A/N:
So sorry.
Forgive me.
-B.
~~~~~~~~~~~
(Aria's POV)I stared at the clock. Ten more minutes and he'd be late.
Those ten minutes passed followed by another ten. He was very late. I took a quick shower, got dressed, and headed out the door.
While I did so, I called my most favorite person in the world.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Working. What are you doing?"
"I'm on my way out the door."
"Why? Where are you going?"
"To see Aimoto. He's not answering his phone and he hasn't called me."
"I would almost guarantee you that he's in hacker mode."
"Probably. That's what happened last time he didn't call. I got there and found him practically glued to his computer. He hadn't slept in three days and he was surviving on energy drinks, some water, and junk food."
"Let me know when you get back home. Got it?"
"Don't I always? Love you."
"Love you too."
I got to Aimoto's and knocked on the door. His grandmother didn't answer like she usually does. I knocked once and the door cracked open. I pushed it open some more before stepping inside.
I checked the entire upstairs before heading downstairs. That door was ajar and I stepped inside only to freeze.
The sounds that I heard......
I'd never forget them.
I grabbed the one item out of my purse that I took with me everywhere before continuing down the stairs.
The sight before me made me sick.
"Hey!" I yelled, gaining the attention of everyone inside.
They all looked at me. One motioned to another and then he advanced towards me. I used the item in my hand and threw it at him. It landed in his chest.
"F*cking shit!" Another yelled before they all advanced towards me.
I took off back up the stairs and into the kitchen where I grabbed the biggest butcher knife I could find.
"Now now little girl," One guy said. "Don't be stupid."
"F*ck you." I growled.
As one ran at me, I swiped at him with the knife and got his arm. He hissed in pain as I managed to take off back down the hall and downstairs. As soon as I was inside, I slammed my hand on the button that was on the wall right inside the door.
An alarm started going off and a metal door slide out of the wall and separated me from them. Knowing I was safe, I ran the rest of the way down to Aimoto.
He broke my heart to look at. He laid in a pool of blood and seemed to be barely breathing.
"Aimoto, stay with me." I said, gently grabbing his face in my hands. "Stay with me."
I could hear the men pounding on the door. I couldn't leave to get him to the hospital until they left. Pushing that button and shutting the door blocked all cell signal too. It was an emergency plan Aimoto put into place when he first moved in with his grandmother. I didn't understand it.
His face was beaten and bloody almost to the point that I couldn't recognize him. His shirt was covered in blood and I could make out several stab wounds.
"Why did they do this to you?" I asked as I began to cry. "Who are they?"
I used what I could to try and stop the bleeding while I waited for the men to leave. To know if they left for sure or not, I ran over to Aimoto's desk and turned on the security camera monitors. I flipped through all of them several times until I was sure they weren't there.
I pushed the button to open the door and called 119. I rode with Aimoto in the ambulance and didn't leave his side until they took him into surgery.
Only at that time did I call Ryu.
~~~~~~~~~~
(Ryu's POV)I was in the middle of eating lunch when my phone rang.
"I was starting to worry." I said as I answered.
"Ryu..." Aria whimpered and my whole body went tense.
I stood up, grabbed my duffle bag, and headed out the door.
"Where are you?"
"The hospital."
"I'm on my way."
I broke just about every driving law possible as I drove to the hospital. I got there in record time.
I walked in preparing myself for what I was about to see, but was a bit stunned to find Aria standing in the lobby area looking just fine. The only thing I could see wrong was that her clothes, hands, and arms were covered in blood.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"It's Aimoto. I-I found him.....he's in bad shape, Ryu." She cried as I pulled her into my arms.
I needed a minute to reassure myself that she was okay. Nothing was physically wrong with her. She was okay.
We sat down before I had her explain exactly what happened.
"His grandmother wasn't there?"
"No, I don't know where she is or went. An officer said he'd stay behind at the house in case she returned. She doesn't have a cell phone so no one can call her."
"Have the doctors said anything about his condition?"
She shook her head. "They haven't. I keep asking but all they ask is if I'm family. When I say not really then they walk away."
"Let's get you home, showered, and changed okay? While you're showering I'll try and get some answers."
"No. No. I can't leave him. He doesn't have anyone."
I cupped her face in my hands and forced her to look at me.
"Ari, you're covered in blood and you're shaking like a leaf. I'm taking you home to get cleaned up and then we will come back. No is not an available answer. Understand?"
She nodded slowly.
While she was in the shower, I called the hospital. After several minutes of....persuading the lady who answered, I finally got some answers.
"He is room 316. Visiting hours are between noon and nine everyday."
"What is his condition?" I asked.
The lady tried to avoid answering. That's how I knew it wasn't good.
"Tell me his condition." I said in a tone of voice I hadn't used in a while.
She sighed. "He is in a coma. The doctor said that surgery was touch-and-go. I'm sorry, but he's not optimistic."
