A tour jeep drove by a herd of gallimimus, the people in the jeep seemed extremely entertained by the creatures. Y/n opted to stare at them, from the window of the train the trio were on, instead of listening to Zach flirt.

"You guys been here before?" The boy asked the girls sitting behind him and Zach. Y/n was standing beside him since there were no three seated areas on the train.

"Yeah." The girl replied and smiled at Zach. Y/n rolled her eyes at the scene until Gray's voice caught her attention.

"If mom and dad get divorced will one of us be with mom and the other with dad?" Zach frowned at Gray's question, "What? Why would you say that?"

"'Cause they are..." Gray said gloomily, Y/n's heart ached for the boy. "No, they're not getting div-" Zach turned around so as to give Gray his full attention, "They're not getting a divorced." Zach reassured.

Gray wiped his nose as Zach leaned back against his seat but when he looked over his shoulder, Y/n was mouthing to him, "Comfort him."

Zach lips pressed into a thin line. He sighed and faced Gray once more, "Look, you haven't been around long enough. They've always been that way."

But Gray shook his head, "They get mail from two different lawyers."

"That doesn't mean anything" Zach told him, "I googled...they're divorce lawyers." Gray was on the verge of tears. Zach looked around in frustration, not knowing how to comfort his 11 year old brother.

"All right, whatever. You know what? It doesn't matter." Zach told Gray, his words clearly not comforting the glassy eyed boy, "Okay? I'm gonna be gone in two years anyway, I mean. All my friends' parents are divorced, and-"

The prospect of being left alone to deal with his parents' situation by himself left Gray feeling more emotional.

Y/n clicked her tongue at Zach's careless words. The older sibling's eyes widened at the sight of younger brother's tears, "Hey, knock it off."

Gray shook his head, his sobs growing louder, "You're gonna cry?" Y/n tapped Zach's shoulder.

"Let me.." Y/n whispered. Zach got up from the seat and let Y/n sit down next to Gray. She reached out to the younger and took his hand in hers.

"Hey.." Y/n called out to him, he turned around to be met by the understanding look on her face. His lower lips trembled and then, he lunged forward to bury his face into the crook of her neck and, his arms wrapped around her body.

Y/n looked back to find Zach nibbling on his lower lip in worry. She gave Zach a comforting smile, reassuring him that she got Gray.

"Hey.. you'll be fine, Gray." Y/n reassured, "You're one of the toughest kids I know." She told him, stroking the back of his neck comfortingly.

Gray's sobs decreased and he wiped his tears away, "Thanks, N/n." He said, still holding her hand.

"We'll have fun at the Gyrosphere Station, yeah?" Y/n nudged him with her shoulder. The boy nodded, a smile making its way to his face.

"There's that smile." She smiled, pinching his cheeks which caused Gray's smile to widen.

Zach was in awe at the scene before him, he admired the way Y/n stepped in and comforted his brother so easily. She was always so good with words, he couldn't recount the amount of times she's been his shoulder to cry on.

Zach was also glad that Gray was feeling better, it was awful seeing his jovial younger brother in such a state.

Gray leaned his head against the window but he slowly raised his head in confusion at the sight of military vehicles.
