Chapter 9

Y/n was looking at her dead phone and sighed, looking outside while Claire was on the phone with Lowery, "Lowery, I'm on my way back to you"

"That's a bad idea, the board assigned emergency ops to iNGen's private
security division, this guy Hoskins is in charge and he has this insane plan to use the Raptors to hunt the Indominus"

"What do you mean "use the Raptors"?" Claire asked confused, "son of a bitch!" Owen shouted, y/n glanced up at the guy and so did Zach

"You shouldn't say "bitch"" Gray corrected, y/n chuckled at the boy's innocence catching Zach's attention

"Take the kids, get them someplace safe, you got this!" Owen kept on saying, "go faster! Damn it, drive! This does not feel safe" he continued

"Can we stay with you?" Gray asked, "I am never leaving you as long as you live" Claire said looking at the kids

"No, him" Zach pointed towards Owen,
"Yeah, definitely him" Gray agreed, Claire looked at the boys in disbelief then glanced at y/n

"I'm not leaving their sides because they wouldn't be able to survive without me" y/n said with a satisfied smile on her face

"We did all the work!" Zach stared at her, "meh! You could've done better work" she shrugged and tried not to laugh

Then the arguing started, "does this happen often?" Owen asked, "you could say so, they fight like an old married couple" Gray answered

Claire and Owen looked at each other and blushed, "whatever, so the point is, I'm not leaving their sides" y/n rolled her eyes and looked out the window

"Good" Zach told her and poked her stomach making her flinch, "Zachary!" Y/n punched his arm, "Zach-ary..?" Claire asked, trying not to laugh

The two teenagers looked at the woman with a look and they both slumped down in the car seat, making faces at each other

At the raptor's division,

"We know that she is in sector five, this is a game we call hide-and-seek, it's a scent drill, we've done it about a thousand times with these animals when they get on target and they will get on target, wait to engage"

"Velociraptors are pack hunters, they like to herd the animal into a kill zone,
that's when we take our shot, get a clear shot wait on my command and give her everything you got, we got one good target, gentlemen, do not shoot my Raptors, please"

Owen explained the plan and now he was with Blue, "Easy, Blue, easy, attagirl
you don't scare me" he told the raptor, "Owen, are they safe?" Gray asked, y/n by his side and holding him by his shoulder

"No, they're not" he asnwered straightforwardly, "what are their names?" "Well, you got Charlie, there's Echo, here is Delta and this one's called Blue, she's the beta" he introduced

"Who's the alpha?" Gray questioned, "you're looking at him, kid" Owen answered, Y/n smiled at Gray who was fascinated by this

Gray left after a bit but y/n didn't as she watched Owen talk to Blue, "you know, Zach, that kid, I think he really likes you" Owen told y/n

She started to blush and crouched down to his level, looking at Blue, "he's got a girlfriend..." she revealed and put her hand out to Blue

Owen stared at her hand making sure the raptor wouldn't bit it off but it didn't and let her pet him, "well he doesn't seem like the type to have a girlfriend by what I've seen, kiddo" Owen stood up and so did y/n

"We're just bestfriends, that's all we're ever gonna be..." y/n looked down sadly, "don't be so sure" y/n looked up at him confused, "I was once that kid too" he told her and patted her shoulder, walking off

With Zach, Gray and Claire, "so, little y/n and you finally dating huh?" Claire teased, helping set up the plan, Zach gave her a look

"He's got a girlfriend" Gray answered for the older brother, Claire frowned, "I always thought you and Y/n would've been endgame..." Zach sighed

"I thought so too..." he whispered but Claire and Gray heard him which left them shocked, "why didn't you ask her out!" Claire asked

"Because he's a coward" Gray answered for his brother, Zach glared at his brother but couldn't disagree, "we're just bestfriends, that's all we're gonna be..." Zach answered

"Sorry to say this Zach but I'm sure that little girlfriend of yours couldn't have made you as happy as n/n could and also that girl is loved by your entire family" Claire pointed out

"Remember when you were younger and scared of that giant spider? Who was there to help? Not me, not your mother...it was her so think about it Zach maybe she is the one" Claire ruffled his hair and walked off with Gray following her closely behind

"Thanks, he really needed that talk, I really wish him and y/n would date" Gray said with an adorable look on his face

"Don't you worry by the end of this, they WILL" Claire smirked, walking off in the distance with her heels clanking against the ground, knowing this might work out
