Chapter 2: Where Are You, Starlight?

Igneel's POV

I was resting at the empty valley as always. But today is different, it's already afternoon & Lunaria still hasn't come. Usually she would come at sunrise but today she didn't appear not even once. Why do I care, at least I'll get some peace & quiet. And so, I just rest all day, doing nothing.

Timeskip (3 days later)

Igneel's POV

GAAAAAHHHH!!!!! It's been 4 days & she still hasn't come! I don't know why but it's so quiet here without her & it's making me frustrated!!! I hate frustration! That's it! I'm gonna go look for her! I turned to my human form & started walking through the forest. Where the hell does she lives anyway? I sniffed the air, trying to pick up her scent. She usually smells like lavender with a mix of vanilla. I then caught a faint scent of lavender & hint of vanilla. That's her alright. I slightly ran while following her scent. I don't know why but I can't wait to see her again.

After running for awhile, I spotted a small but cozy cottage. I could see smoke coming out of the chimney. Looks like someone's home. When I sniffed the air again, her scent was actually coming from the cottage. I went to the front door & knocked. No response. I knocked again. Then I heard slow footsteps coming towards the front door. "Coming..." I heard a voice said. It sounded... tired? The the door opened revealing girl wrapped in a thick blanket. "Igneel... What are you doing here?" It was.....

Lunaria Starlight

"Lunaria!" I exclaimed & hugged her. 

Lunaria's POV

I was shocked by his sudden action. But I hugged him back. He's so warm... He pulled away. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!" He asked. I giggled weakly. "I'm sorry... I caught a cold after playing in the rain a couple of days ago. I had to stay in bed so I couldn't come. I'm sorry..." I explained & apologised. "Are you alone? Is someone taking care of you?" He asked again. Maybe he's worried. "I told you, didn't I? I don't have any other friends, I live alone." I answered with a weak smile. "Come on in, I'll go make you something to drink." I invited him & was about to head to the kitchen when a hand stopped me. "No, you just rest for now. Leave the rest to me." he said then carried me to my bed, bridal style. He laid me down on my bed then tucked me in. "Are you sure?" I asked, a bit worried "Yeah, you don't have to worry about me, just worry about yourself." He kissed my forehead making my temperature go higher than before. I hid my head under my blanket. I heard him chuckle & was about to leave. I quickly grabbed his vest. He turned around with a slight shocked expression.

"Don't leave me..."

Igneel's POV

Urgh! Can she stop making cute expressions?! She's driving me crazy! "Fine, I'll stay until you sleep." I said to her & she smiled. "Thank you.... It feels nice to have someone to take care of you... I've neve... felt... like this... before..." She softly said & fell asleep. I stared at her. I moved a strand of hair that was on her face. "Lunaria... Why do you always make me feel different? Why do I feel these emotions? Why are you the only one that makes me like this?" I sighed. I climbed onto her bed & pulled her close to me. I too slowly fell asleep.

Timeskip (2 days later)

No One's POV

"YAY! I'M HEALTHY AGAIN!" Lunaria exclaimed then running & dancing around in the flower field. Igneel who was watching just sweatdropped. "Careful, you might fall." He warned but he was a second to late. Lunaria accidentally tripped at a small stone & was about to fall. Gladly, Igneel caught her just in time. "I told you to be careful didn't I?" He said. Their faces was so close, Lunaria blushed. "I-I'm sorry..." She stuttered. Igneel helped her stand up. Suddenly, a Monochrome came running towards Lunaria. He jumped when he was about to reach Lunaria & she caught him. she sat down & played with Monochrome using a catnip. Igneel watched her with Monochrome with a smile. Then, a black cat came to him. The jumped on Igneel's lap & curled. 

Lunaria turned to Igneel & giggled when she saw Igneel confused. "That's Ikuto. One of my cats." (A/N: Yes, I know what most of you are thinking. Yes, I took his name. And literally I do have a black cat name Ikuto.) "He's usually hard to get along with new people. Maybe he likes you." She smiled. Igneel stroke Ikuto's back &it seemed like he liked it. They spent the rest of their day, playing with the cats & chatting away.
