After all you've been through, this was was the hardest thing you've ever had to do.
The tears just fell out, more and more as you held tight onto Will's shirt. But you knew you weren't the only one who wanted to say goodbye, it took all of your strength to let go off Will. You looked up at him both of you tears in your eyes, you looked to your right to see Joyce leaning against the van. You gave her a glare, not for long, she was one of your favourite people. It was quick and snappy, you pulled your hands out of Will's and walked over to Eleven.
You didn't have to say anything, you and already pulled each other into a hug. El pulled on the back of your shirt as you listened to her sob into your shoulder. You looked at Mike, he had that same look in his eyes. You couldn't really describe what it was but, it was if he was loosing his world.
El seperated from you, she fumbled with the top pocket on her shirt and handed you a scrunched up note. You scanned the note and read the last line: 'For the sake of your poor old dad, keep the door open three inches.'
Immediately knowing who it was from, you looked back up at El, tears in her eyes. "Oh El." You said pulling her back in.
Soon enough, each of you were lined along the side of Jonathan's car. Your arms linked around each other's shoulders. Will had his arm around your waist, pulling you in while you gripped onto his shirt. Tears glistened in your eyes, making your vision blurry, you had to wipe your eyes practically every five seconds.
Will took his arm off from around Lucas's shoulder, he spun around to face you and pulled you in for another hug.
"I love you." He whispered into your ear through mid sob.
"I love you too." You said resting your head on his shoulder.
****
Time was your worst enemy, what felt like two minutes of a goodbye Will had climbed into Jonathan's car. El in the front of the movers van along with Joyce. You, Mike, Nancy, Max, Lucas and Dustin, were stood out the front of the empty Byers home. Watching as your group split apart.
You could see the heartbreak in Mike's eyes, both of you and lost El more times than you could count. Mike put his arm over your shoulder, acting like the older brother he was to you.
Then you watched, you watched as your whole world drove away from you, you squeezed onto the photo in your pocket.
Its amazing what one summer can change.
