Chapter 21

You and El walked into the beginning of the storm. You looked around at the howling wind and the darkness. You could see those fluff like things in the air, just like the ones that surrounded the gate last year.

"Hey! Hey Billy!" You heard a man yell. "What the hell is wrong with you? What did we talk about huh? You gotta slide!"

You walked up towards the man and saw he hand hold of the younger Billy.

"I don't-" Billy stammered through tears.

"What? You afraid your gonna get hurt is that it?" He asked in anger.

"No." Billy stuttered.

"Well what then? What!" The man yelled. "What did i raise a pussy for a son?"

"Leave me alone!" Billy exclaimed running away deeper into the storm.

"HEY!" The man yelled, which you had identified was Billy's father. "That's right run! Like you always do!"

You and El started running after Billy, you glared at his father and sent a flock of seagulls to attack him. As you got deeper into the storm Billy had disappeared.

Your hair blew more in the wind and you out your arm above your eyes so you could see better, you ran through crackling lightning and storm clouds to see a table with three people stood around it.

"Where were you last night?!" The same man demanded to a woman, Billy's mother. "Where were you!"

"I told you i was with Wendy!" The woman exclaimed.

"Stop lying to me!" He yelled.

"IM NOT LYING TO YOU!" She shouted.

"You saw him again didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?!" He yelled grabbing her arm.

"Get away from me!" She yelled pulling her arm free.

As he tried reaching for her again she picked up a plate and threw it at him. "I said get away!" She yelled tears appearing in her eyes.

"You whore!" The man yelled.

"STOP IT!" A little boy yelled, Billy. He ran up to the man and held him away from his mother. "Don't hurt her!"

The man pulled Billy off him and threw him to the side. "You bastard!" The woman shouted. The man ran up to her and hit her across the face making her fall to the floor. You felt your hand over your mouth in shock suddenly feeling pain for Billy.

"Mom!" Billy exclaimed running over to her.

They disappeared and you heard the boys voice behind you. "I don't understand, why not?" You turned to see young Billy on the floor with a phone in his hand. "Please mom don't do this. Please come home. No. How long? How long?! I miss you." He said through sobbing.

"Get back here!" You heard from behind you, you turned your head around to see younger Billy chasing another kid. You watched as he pushed him down and started punching his face. You walked towards them squinting your eyes from the storm.

"Get off!" The kid exclaimed.

"What are you scared to fight me? You scared?! Get up and fight me! Pussy!" Billy yelled.

"Billy come over here." You heard the man say, you turned to see him in the distance with a red head girl walking up to the younger Billy. "I want you to meet someone. This is your new sister. Her name's Maxine."

"Max." The little girl corrected.

"Shake her hand." He demanded.

"Who's there!" You heard a deep voice yell from behind you both, it was the present Billy. You and El turned around, you hand your hands trying to cover your eyes from the wind. You were now walking around as if you were in a storm cloud. "I said who's there!" Billy repeated, you heard him scream and you started running to where you could hear it.

You could see headlights from a car in the distance and a few lights. As you ran faster towards the screams the storm cloud stopped, the wind stopped blowing your hair and you were in a large dome that was free of the storm. El ran in following you and she noticed this as well and started looking around. You looked up to see the storm above you both but not touching you. You knew you must be at the source. You walked up closer to the car an instantly recognized the shattered window and California license plate.

"I think we found it. El said to everyone. "The source."

"Where El where are you?" You heard Max ask.

El looked up at the building in front of you both and struggled to read the sign.

"Brimborn Steelworks." You helped.

El nodded and said it out loud.

Then you heard Mike's voice.

"El we found it. Tell y/n and get out of there!" Mike instructed.

"You ready?" You asked El.

"Yeah." She replied.

"Okay, on the count of three." You said making El nod. "One. Two. Three!" El closed her eyes and your imminently opened.

You gasped and started breathing heavily you saw Mike looking at you and you were back in the living room. You grabbed a tissue and wiped your nose then you looked at El. She hadn't moved, her blindfold was still on.

"Whats wrong why hasn't she come out?" You asked walking over to her.

"What?" Max said confused.

"We both went at the same time, i think somethings wrong." You answered.

"Can you get back in?" Jonathan asked.

You closed your eyes and focused, but that didn't work. You tired holding El's hand but it didn't work either. "No, no, no." You mumbled trying again.

"Has this happened before?" Nancy asked.

"Once, and that was right before Will got flayed!" You answered. "El can you hear me?" You exclaimed. "El? El!"

Eleven POV:

You started breathing heavily when you took off your blindfold, only to realize you were alone.

"Mike?" You said softly. "Y/n?" No one replied, you were all alone. "Mike? Mike?" You said again getting up. "Y/n!" You said but no one responded. "Mike!!" You yelled.

"He can't hear you. Neither can she see you." A deep voice said from behind you. You turned around and saw Billy come out from Hopper's room. "You shouldn't have looked for me. And you defiantly shouldn't have brought your sister with you. Because now i see you, i see her. Now we can all see you. You.. let us in." He said walking closer while you walked backwards, you remembered that day you opened the gate. "And now... you are going to have to let us stay. Don't you see? All this time , we've been building it. We've been building it, for her. All that work, all that pain. All of it, for her, and also you. And now its time. Time to end it. And we're going to end your sister. And once shes gone, we're gonna rip you in half. Then we'll go for your friends. And then we are going to end.. everyone."

You felt tears running down your face, you knew he was talking about y/n. "Get away!" You screamed holding out your arm and Billy flew back across the room.

Normal POV:

You kept trying to get in El's head, suddenly she ripped of her blindfold and started screaming. She looked around and suddenly calmed down when she saw Mike's face, she threw her arms around him and her screaming slowly died down. She sobbed in his arm and looked at you with regret. Like she had done something to you.
