Chapter 22

El had stopped crying, she sat holding your hand on the sofa and stated explaining what had happened. She said how Billy knew what you were doing and he spoke to her.

"He said he was, building something. And that it was all for you and me." El said softly looking at you.

"Building something... Is he talking about the flayed?" Max asked.

"He must be." Nancy answered.

"So he's building an army just like we thought." Lucas added.

"Yeah but he's not building this army to spread." Mike started..

"He's building it to stop the girls." Will added.

"Last year, y/n took her own possession of the demodogs, even him, and now Billy. And now he knows that y/n can take over a mind as well. And if she can control him then she is stronger than him. And El she closed the gate on him, and i have a feeling that really pissed him off." Mike continued.

"Yeah royally." Lucas mumbled.

"And the Mind Flayer now knows that y/n is the only thing that can get in his way, and he also knows that El is next in line." Mike continued. "But if y/n is out the way, and when El is out the way-" Mike continued.

"Game over." Lucas finished.

"And he also said, he was gonna come for y/n first. Then me, then he was gonna kill all of you." El said weakly, you noticed everyone look around like this ;-;.

"Yeah well that's nice." Max said sarcastically.

You heard a banging sound in the distance, Nancy walked up to a window and looked out of it. Then you heard it again, only this time it sounded like a deep screech.

"Do you guys hear that?" Nancy asked.

"Its just the fireworks." Jonathan replied.

"Billy. When he told you this it was here in this room?" Nancy asked.

El nodded, you read Nancy's mind and knew what she was thinking. This time it was a loud thudding noise.

"Fireworks do not make that noise." You mumbled.

Then you saw Will put his hand on the back of his neck. "He knows we're here." He said.

Everyone ran out the front door and down the porch and looked at where you could hear the noise. As you looked down the pavement you could see the trees ruffling. Then you saw a larger version of what was at the hospital and identical to the Shadow Monster drawing from last year, it knocked over some trees and roared.

You knew if it had eyes they'd be looking right at you.
