Eleven had left a note for Hoper saying she was staying at Max's for a sleepover. You changed and you all went off to Max's house.
"It's gonna start pouring soon, we should be at the mall or like watching a movie or something." Max said while you walked to her house, you walked with your bike next to you.
"You don't believe us?" Eleven asked.
"I believe you both saw some super weird stuff, totally." Max nodded. "But you said Mike and y/n has sensed you there before right?" Max asked. You remembered that early morning in Will's house where you felt a if someone was watching you, you found out this year that it was El. "So maybe it was just like that. Maybe Billy just sensed you."
"How did he see me though?" You mumbled but nobody heard you.
"But the screams." Eleven said.
"Yeah I know but here's the thing. When Billy is alone with a girl, they make like, really crazy noises." Max added.
"They scream?" Eleven asked.
"Yeah but like, happy screams." Max answered. You thought to yourself and then figure out what she meant.
"Happy screams what is happy screams?" El asked.
"It's like..." Max started.
"Max, please don't." You interrupted.
"Alright." Max mumbled, as you came up to her house she looked at the empty space in front of her house. "That's weird, his cars not here." She said raising and eyebrow, she turned her head to you and Eleven. "You really want to do this?" She asked.
You and El nodded your heads and Max lead you both inside.
You headed down the corridor and into Billy's room.
"Why do I get the feeling we're going to find all kinds of wrong on here?" Max said to herself as you walked into the room.
Max walked up to some of Billy's draws and you threw his cigarettes into the trash. You turned around and saw Eleven walking out the room and down the corridor, you followed her into the bathroom and Max came too. As you walked in you looked at the bathtub, it had empty ice bags inside.
"Max." Eleven said.
"Ice. It's just ice." Max said picking up one of the bags. "It's probably for his muscles or something he works out like a maniac."
You turned your head and saw blood on the cabinet.
"Guys." You said in a trembling voice. You walked over and opened the cabinet. You picked up a box and looked inside of it.
"What is it?" Max asked.
You picked up a lifeguard bag, and a whistle with blood all over it. You and El looked at each other with the same trembling face.
You and Max rode on your bikes to the Hawkins pool, Eleven held onto Max's shoulders and stood on the stands on the back of her bike. You had your white raincoat on and Max gave Eleven a red one and she wore a yellow one. (Get it? Ketchup, mustard and mayo ;-; yeah I don't like mayo but I was using a brain then :)) You and Max parked your bikes in the bike stand then walked under the roof to the front desk. You took the hood off your raincoat and sighed when you saw some of your hair got wet.
"Excuse me?" Max said when you got to the front desk, behind it was the manager and a lifeguard.
"No one in the water until 30 minutes after the last strike. And don't try argue with me. You wanna get electrocuted go climb a tree." The lifeguard said in a dull voice.
"Yeah we don't care. We're not here to swim." Max replied.
"And if I wanted to get electrocuted I would have done so already." You added.
"We found this." Eleven said holding up the lifeguard bag.
"Does it belong to anyone here?" You asked.
"Oh yeah. That's Heather's. I'll get it back to her." He replied.
"We could give it back to her?" El suggested.
"You could. Cept she's not here. Bailed on me today." He responded. You all looked at each other with a concerned look. "What is this? You girls want a reward or something?" He asked sarcastically making the girl next to him chuckle.
"No." You replied smirking.
"We're just. Good Samaritans." Max smirked.
You noticed Eleven's attention on something else, you turned your head in her direction and saw a board with pictures of all the lifeguards on it. You followed her over to it and examined all the photos. You saw Heather's photo, yo looked at her curly jet black hair and her whistle was identical to the one you had found before.
"Do you think you can find her?" Max asked El.
El looked back at the manager and the life guard then at the photo, she grabbed it and you all headed towards the bathroom. You made the people at the desk not notice you and you threw the doors open, Max turned all the showers on and you grabbed some goggles for El to use as a blindfold, one Max had finished Eleven put duck tape around the goggles for a pitch black effect. You sat down in front of her and Max sat on the benches next to you both. You put this picture of Heather in front of El and she put the goggles on. You closed your eyes and instantly you were with El in the void.
Before you both was a mailbox, you both slowly walked over to it and read the number attached to it, '1438'. A red door slowly faded into view in front of the mailbox, you looked at Eleven the walked slowly to the door.
"What do you see?" You heard Max ask.
"A door." Eleven answered. "A red door."
Eleven pushed the door open, it made a slight creak as it opened. When it opened a bathtub came into view. You flinched your eyebrows and walked over. You looked in the bathtub to see it full of ice. Suddenly, Heather lifted out the bathtub gasping for air, she turned and looked at you and Eleven in the eye.
"Help me." She said before something dragged her back in.
Eleven screamed and you jumped down reaching for her, the bathtub disappeared but you felt yourself reaching through water. You watched as Heather sank further down reaching for you. Then it stopped, you were back in the bathroom. You gasped for air as Eleven did, you held your chest and looked at Max.
"What happened?" Max asked.
El kept gasping and put her head in her hands. 'What the hell.' You thought.
