Chapter 27

"VICTORIOUS!"

Even though it was still light outside the Empire, a few lanterns that had been scattered around the grounds had suddenly come to life, adding a welcome warmth to the chilly evening air. The streetlights on the boulevards and the sidewalk lamps were both fine and bright, blazing in a wholesome manner in dazzling white tones.

It was just fantastic; lighting were also hung from the flower poles, offering a lovely vista. People of all social classes engaged in ceaseless, ecstatic cries of victory as the fragrances of sweet scents and fresh flowers persisted in the air for a long time and beautiful music mingled with them.

The warriors rode through the streets to the Imperial Palace while the Emperor rode his horse in front, shouting, "Victory! We are victorious!"

"Hail the Emperor! You shall always be this Empire's greatest king; you shall be our great ruler forever!"

The streetlights' gloomy yellow glows. From the minute the sun sets, warriors and residents jam the roads leading to the town center and the empire. They've returned to the palace, where they call home. They brought the warriors who had been hurt while fighting with them. The citizens class was enjoying the arrival of the Emperor and the warriors with the victory as they danced around giddily with spring delights, and screams and laughter immediately erupted in the road's huge market square.

"Victorious! Victorious!"

As the populace gathered to rejoice in their victory over the oppressive Empire, the streets leading up to the palace were crowded with happy individuals. Everyone in the palace was standing on their tracks to celebrate the Emperor's triumphal entry, including the staff members, officials, and servants.

People gathered to celebrate as soon as they learned of the victory. And to commemorate, there is a sizable celebration under the palace's large dome. Emperor Massimo lacks the motivation to travel there, though. He is anxious to reach the palace.

As they got off the horse, the Knights bowed respectfully before the Emperor and said, "Emperor, are you coming to join us in the hall to celebrate—"

Emperor Massimo cut him off, "I need to rest."

The knight bowed and said, "I understand, your majesty. Should I ask the servants to—"

He eventually walked to nowhere, saying, "I have to go somewhere. Tell everyone not to disturb me."

"I understand, your highness..." the knight replied, and everyone stared at him as he disappeared in the dark.

At the entrance of his hall, his wiseman was already waiting for him.

"Your highness—"

He raised his hand in an indication of wanting to stop him. "Call my prettiest servant," he said.

The wiseman smiled awkwardly and said, "Well, she's waiting for you in the hall."

He smirked, and for the first time he remarked, "Good job."

Everyone stopped as they watched the Emperor enter the hall in grand style, as if he had never taken part in the conflict and had never been in charge of his people. Everyone was amazed by how clean and free of scratches he appeared to be. When he noticed the servants lined up to the side, waiting for him to pass, he doubled his pace. He halted, however, in front of a particular servant whose features he is quite familiar with.

"Emperor!" The matron cried.

"His highest grace! The mighty Emperor!" The servants greeted him, including Brielle.
