Chapter 36

WHEN BRIELLE managed to flee, her life was not straightforward. It was gloomy, depressing, and awful. She feels as though she has escaped from prison and that everyone is after her blood, as if she had done something bad and deserves to die as a punishment. She was no longer able to handle anything, so she left.

She was merely mistaken when she thought she was nearing the Emperor. She believed that everything was good and that the emperor was becoming better as a result of her. Or at least showing her kindness. But it was all a lie; she was just dreaming. And it really aches because disaster strikes behind her back just as she thought everything was fine.

Her family had been harmed by the elder, which crushed her, but Winter's revelation devastated her even more. Despite the fact that she knew she meant nothing to the Emperor, she felt so betrayed that she was unable to bear the hurt. She was aware that Winter had done nothing wrong, but she couldn't help but feel that everyone had betrayed her.

Being treated like a toy hurts, and the Emperor did not even deny that. Her life in the palace was already chaotic, but the outside world was a complete catastrophe—a living hell. She had no idea how miserable she might be than she was in the palace. She cried every day because of her suffering and frustration. She has developed a depression and is unsure of what to do.

She was sobbing and thinking hard about what to do with her meager savings as she discreetly rode the carriage carrying wine supplies being delivered to the farthest town from the palace while donning a disguise provided to her by the matron.

As she pondered how she would use her salary to possibly save her family, her heart was breaking nonstop. How on earth could she now assist them? She was simply working hard because they trusted her. But she became so miserable because the circumstances were so unfair.

She vowed to return with additional cash to prevent their plight from poverty before she left them. Her siblings were ecstatic for her, and her parents were pleased. Unfortunately, she is returning as a letdown. She only has negative news to share when she returns. She is such a troublemaker and letdown. Nevertheless, she managed to flee the palace with the help of the matron.

It was accurate; her family had been ejected from the neighborhood. Her family wasn't there when she returned to their previous home. Thank goodness the new tenant of their previous home was considerate and let her know where her family had moved. Her father lost his job after a wealthy family took their farm.

Her family was forced to sell the small land and farm they own after being informed that the land was long in danger of going bankrupt and that the only way to rescue and preserve it was to sell it. It's probably just a reason, there's someone who had plotted all of these.

When she returned, she was so distraught that she was having trouble breathing. She was shivering in fear of the opinions and remarks of her family. When she knocked on the old wooden door of their new modest house, she was so disoriented that all she could do was pray that everything would be okay. Upon their reunion, they were all in tears. She is sincerely sorry for everything, feels guilty for their failure, and is such a letdown.

"Mom, dad, I'm so sorry..."

The only thing that came out of Brielle's mouth during that time was an apology.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," she says. "Please pardon me; I've let you down..."

"You actually did great, my beautiful girl, and welcome back," her mother sobbed as she stroked her face. "My lovely daughter, poor kid. It's not your fault."

Brielle sobbed more as she said, "I'm so sorry. I vowed to lift us out of poverty, but all I had when I got back was a little cash."

Her brothers yelled, "Big sister! Big sister!" and begged her not to cry.
