Notes on Alexander Hamilton for All Shadows

Keep in mind, this is not to stress you out or mess you up. You are all doing great as it is, these are some additional things we have noticed may need improvement on your part.

I skipped through the rest of the beginning blurb, eager to see everyone's notes. Even though this would hurt a lot of us before it helped.

Charlie Abbott/Aaron Burr: During Brian's entrance, do a little more "background" moving (don't stand still but let the audience focus on him); after Washington's solo watch your entrance time because it's earlier than you think, you have to be there to hand Carson the book; watch your timing on taking the coat from Carson; we want a more energetic transition when Carson gets off the stairs and you get on.

Charlie just looked like they were taking the notes in stride and started trying a couple things out by themself. At least someone could get stuff out of the notes without being hurt by them. Although Charlie was one of the heads' favorites, so it made sense.

James Parker/John Laurens: We'd like more of a gesture towards Kyle when your entrance solo is done, like you're handing it off to him; the way you're backing up to make way for Brian is nice but do it faster; you need to kill more time getting into position for the line because you're nearly in your position already; don't forget you have to get in front of Brian on the surround.

The paper crinkled loudly in James' hands while he flipped it back and forth, reading and re-reading his notes. He looked like he didn't expect whatever had just happened. At least he had small corrections.

Kyle Gibson/Thomas Jefferson: You're traveling too much after your entrance (you shouldn't be directly in front of Charlie); your surround cue is the snap on "split" and the snap on "bed-ridden" is your cue to pause halfway up the stairs, when Zoey finishes her solo that's when you need to go up; as soon as you finish "we fought with him" turn in to face James.

Kyle was completely silent as his eyes slid down the paper, quietly mouthing to himself the notes again and again as if he could absorb them.

Brian Couffaine/James Madison: You don't need to stray from your course on your entrance, trust that the others will get out of your way because they will; right on "split" you need to turn;  you can and should walk slower coming down the stairs during the coat exchange (you should keep the distance between you and Kyle), since you're the first on the surround at the end you need to pay more attention to your timing and placement (these are very important).

Brian seemed kind of struck speechless once he'd read down the list; maybe harsh critiques from the heads but at the same time, he had to be expecting this. Nobody was perfect and we were too close to the end to have time for sympathy. Especially when they were in work mode.

Noelle Windsor/Angelica Schuyler: The cue to start moving is after "moved in with a cousin" and here make sure you're out of the guys' way; just before the coat switch pay attention to the visual cue of Zoey under you because that's when you have to go down the stairs; plan your trajectory so you can hand Carson the book on time; you need to turn more on "me, I loved him" because you're on the outside edge.

Noelle looked exactly used to getting notes, and exactly sure she'd get the ones written down on the paper. Quickly she pulled out her phone and began entering the things she'd need to practice to help perfect her opening. Most of us wished we could be her, take the critiques without hurt, make a plan to fix and proceed to fix.
