"Where is he?" I asked softly as Daphne put on my gold necklace. She ran her fingers through my curled locks that shinned under the sunlight coming through the window.
"He's waiting for you in the marble castle Sultanim" Daphne answered slipping on over my dress another dress to keep me warm in the thin material.
"let's go then," I said turning around to face her. She placed some furs over my shoulders before helping me with a headscarf over my head then she put on her own headscarf and coat and off we went, I entrusted the children to Yenisah Sultan and Zeynep saying I was going to walk in the garden to get some refreshing air for the first time since my darling Mustafa passed away a couple of weeks back.
When I reached the marble castle I walked as fast as I can into the main room which was split in half by a wooden fold-up screen, behind it I could see a silhouette standing tall and proud. I took a deep breath before taking my place on the other side of the screen.
"Thank you for coming on such short notice, Kasim agha" I started the conversation. I looked at Darvis agha who was the one who bought the other man and waited with him for me.
"It was no bother Sultanim, I had already seen that you will be coming for my help" He spoke for the first time, his voice was rough and very gruff making me shiver, he was very weird and intimidating.
"I want you to see the future of my sons Ahmed Cem and Suleiman," I said turning to face the wooden fold-up screen trying to see his reaction through the small holes but it was no use.
"My son Mustafa died a couple of weeks ago and I don't want the same fate for my other sons" I continued turning to face the front again feeling tears build up in my eyes but pushed them back and gulped down the lump in my throat.
"I cannot see the far-off future but I can tell you for the next couple of years their highnesses will be just fine, more than fine now they're expecting a brother," He said making me freeze, a brother? I thought Diana was putting a medicine for the other two women which was driving them crazy.
"Who is pregnant? Leyla or Hatice?" I asked tightening my fists, I can't let them have any sons, they will be a danger for my own sons.
"Neither, you are Sultanim" He answered. I felt a cold feeling wash over me, I was pregnant? How could I miss such a thing?
"You said they're getting a brother, are you sure it's a son?" I asked shakily as I raised my hand and placed it on my stomach feeling butterflies flutter in them for the first time in weeks.
"Yes Sultanim, you will have a magnificent boy who will make you prouder than any other one of your sons, he will be your pride" He answered making me crack a small smile, the baby wasn't even born yet and he was saying such things.
"Will he be healthy?" I asked worriedly. I turned to face the screen and placed my hand on it desperate for this child to be born healthy and live.
"He will be healthy, he will have brown hair with ocean blue eyes that will storm the earth like an angry sea wave that will crush his enemies" I felt pride fill me up, and even though I don't know if this man was saying the truth or just lying it still made me hope.
"Will, I ever have girls?" I asked. I had two boys and according to him a third was on the way, or fourth after Mustafa, and having a girl did not scare me or disgust me like most women but that doesn't mean I wanted one.
"Yes, you will but one of them who's name will begin with S, she will be your biggest helper so raise her wisely" He answered. A girl whose name started with an S, what could that name be?
"Thank you, Kasim agha" I nodded at Darvis to pay him before leaving the room taking a deep breath when I stepped out.
"Is everything okay, Sultanim?" Daphne asked worriedly when I stepped out. I looked up at the shining sun despite the winter weather.
"Never better" I answered walking over to the carriage and got it smiling for the first time in weeks.
When we reached the castle I stormed down the harem to the infirmary to confirm what that man had said. If he was telling the truth I will shower him with presents and if he keeps being truthful with me I will make him a pasha.
"How can I help you, Sultanim?" A doctor asked when I stepped inside, I saw Hatice standing up from the bed with a sour face in as she buttoned up her dress.
"I want you to examine me, I haven't been feeling well" I answered placing a hand on my stomach to fake nausea. Hatice was about to walk out and that's when she noticed me, she stopped by the door and started talking with the doctor that examined her, very roughly may I add.
"Of course, lay down Sultanim" I did as told trying not to flinch as she examined everywhere over my body, it didn't hurt, it was just uncomfortable.
"Well, hatun?" I asked standing up from the rough bed, I feel bad for whoever has to sleep the night here. I buttoned up my dress as she washed her hands, I looked at Daphne who walked over and handed the doctor a bag filled with money.
"You're pregnant Sultanim," She said smiling brightly. I felt the air in my lungs leave for a moment before a smile adorned my face. My eyes trialed to Hatice who seemed mad and sad at the same time which made me feel horrible but for my sons, I will do anything.
"Tell the Vailde and tell Darvis to inform his majesty" I ordered Daphne as we walked out of the infirmary. She bowed and ran the opposite way. I held my head high as I walked back to my room where Yenisah Sultan and Zeynep were sat not knowing a thing.
