"My dear Neslihan

You have no idea how happy you made me with the news of your pregnancy. I pray to Allah he or she comes to this world healthy.

I miss you so much that it's driving me crazy. I dream of you every night. I miss holding you as you sleep. I miss watching you sleep looking as innocent as a newborn baby. I miss smelling your scent all over my clothes after I see you. I miss the way you talk so passionately about our son, our world.

I miss my Ahmed so much. I haven't seen my boy for the past week and it hurts not being able to feel the both of you here beside me as I sleep.

My Neslihan
My empire
My throne
My heart
My love
My everything

Take care of yourself and our beloved Ahmed Cem.

Your beloved Mahmoud"

I smiled sadly at the words. My pregnancy gave a sense of hope to everyone in the empire and so did the doctors as they started to control the plague more and more each day and hopefully, in a few months this nightmare will end.

The only people who weren't happy with my pregnancy were Leyla Hatun, yes we started calling her hatun as she lost her sultana status and it was given to me, and Hatice sultan. Leyla was already locked in her room since her son's death but her maid said she was doing even worse now. Hatice locked herself for a couple of days since the news came out.

"Someone seems happy today" I looked up front the letter to Daphne who stood at the door with Ahmed.

"Mahmoud answered my letter and he's really happy with the pregnancy" I answered getting up. I walked over to the mirror and placed on my crown. The Valide wanted to do a party in the harem for my pregnancy and as a way to spread some joy after everything that has happened.

I walked down the harem looking at the girls that bowed to me with a smile. I walked over to the throne of the valide where she sat and bowed to her, she smiled at me and ushered for me to sit down on a pillow beside Hatice.

"How are you feeling, Neslihan?" The valide asked earning my attention from Daphne who was sat with some of the maids showing them Ahmed who was laughing as one tickled him

"How are you feeling, Neslihan?" The valide asked earning my attention from Daphne who was sat with some of the maids showing them Ahmed who was laughing as one tickled him.

"Much better sultanim, his majesty sent me a letter telling me how happy he is with my pregnancy, and thank Allah he's healthy," I said smiling up at her. She smiled with relief when she heard that he was happy and healthy.

"You have to take care of yourself so you won't hurt our grandson," the valide said patting my shoulder. I bowed my head as a way to show her I understand.

"That is if she gives the dynasty a son" Warda sultan said snakily. I rolled my eyes and acted like I didn't hear her. I knew she hated me especially after Isa died. She has always been on Leyla's side but now that Leyla no longer has a son and even if she did in the future he won't be the first to the throne she should've come to my side instead of just fighting alone, even Leyla gave up and raised the white flag for now.

"Careful!" I jumped and turned around to see Daphne clutched Ahmed close to her as he burst out crying

"Careful!" I jumped and turned around to see Daphne clutched Ahmed close to her as he burst out crying. I jumped up and ran over, taking him from her, and started checking him for injuries.

"What happened?" The valide asked glaring at the girls as she stepped beside me and placed a comforting hand on Ahmed's head to calm him down and one on my back I comfort me. She's been really nice to me lately which made me start thinking that maybe I was starting to become her favorite.

"The maid almost dropped the prince but I caught him in time, he's crying from the shock" Daphne explained. I glared as hard as I could at the maid making her whimper as the glare of a mother was always the harshest kind.

"Don't you have a brain? Have you never held a child in your life?" I yelled angrily waving my hand. She almost dropped my baby and hurt him.

"Take her to the dungeons for a week as her punishment" the valide ordered

"Take her to the dungeons for a week as her punishment" the valide ordered. Two harem aghas came and escorted the now sobbing girl out of the room.

"Shhh, baby mommy's here" I whispered in his ear making him calm down and lean his head against my chest.

"If you'll excuse me validam, I want to take him to bed it's getting late" she nodded and kissed his head one last time before I bowed and left the room feeling relief that he's okay and safe in my arms.

I walked into my room and sat down on the couch with Ahmed in my lap. Daphne gave me a handkerchief to wipe the sweat off his forehead until she got his sleepwear so we could change him before his meal and then we will put him to bed.

"Mommy will always be here to protect you my sunshine," I said bouncing up on my knee as I wiped off his sweat. He flailed his arms a little as Daphne walked in with his clothes ready to change him.

After I changed him and fed him, I laid him down in bed beside me wanting to make sure he was safe

After I changed him and fed him, I laid him down in bed beside me wanting to make sure he was safe. I closed my eyes and imagined Mahmoud laying down beside me with Ahmed in between us. He was asleep with his arm protectively over our son's chest that was rising and falling with each breath he took as he slept like an angel.

"I miss you" I whispered as my eyes started to get heavy feeling safe with Mahmoud beside me, even if he was a fragment of my imagination, it didn't matter.
