"They are too young, Neslihan, we will talk about this in a couple of years, and for now let them be children," Mahmoud said shaking his head.

"Mahmoud, I of course didn't mean for us to marry them right now but I suggested that we ask for her hand and secure a promise from her father and get them engaged and when they grow up they can choose if they want to go on with this marriage or not" I defended my idea. Mahmoud looked at me uncertainly.

"Is that what you think is the best option?" Mahmoud asked

"Is that what you think is the best option?" Mahmoud asked. I nodded my head in confirmation. Mahmoud sighed and rubbed his face, he was stressed. I need to change the subject for now and I can continue convincing him of our son Ahmed Cem's engagement to Gülcemal for now.

"Think about it for a while and then make a decision" I whispered rubbing a hand up and down his back. Mahmoud leaned closer to me, I couldn't help but smile as he leaned his forehead against mine.

"What are you doing to me woman?" Mahmoud asked taking a hold of my hand stopping my movement. I smiled at him and shrugged my shoulders a little.

"You're killing me" Mahmoud groaned making me laugh. Anyone with two functioning eyes could see that I had him in the palm of my hand much to the Valide's dismay.

A harsh knock on the door disturbed my sleep. I opened my eyes and sat up just as Mahmoud got out of bed. I sat up and waited to see who disturbed us so late in the night. Mahmoud opened the door to show Diana Kalfa standing behind the door, she immediately bowed at the sight of her superior.

"Your majesty, forgive me for disturbing you at such an hour" Diana pleaded

"Your majesty, forgive me for disturbing you at such an hour" Diana pleaded. Mahmoud struggled to stifle a yawn. I looked out the window to see the night sky was still present meaning we haven't slept for long.

"What is it Kalfa?" Mahmoud asked sounding a little harsher than needed.

"We just got word from Esmehan Sultan's palace that her majesty went into labor in the early hours of the morning and the Valide has been with her during the entire day," Diana said. I raised my eyebrows confused, everyone knew she had gone into labor this morning and that the Valide was with her.
