Cathie arrived faster than I thought possible. As to be expected, she came with edibles for us to eat. I collapsed on the couch while she fumbled with the remote. After a few minutes of going through the channels, she settled on a reality show.

The Klapdashians family filled our screen. I rolled my eyes, and grabbed my phone. Pulling up Gerard's name, I sent him a nude of my fingers between my legs. So wet.

Voices came from the TV. I looked up as the scene changed to reveal a Klapdashian sister on screen, talking about how annoying her sibling was. I scoffed, and Cathie caught it.

"What?" she asked.

"Me? Nothing."

"How's your man?"

I ignored the sarcasm and annoyance laced in those words. She would not understand. Instead of trying to explain to her, I chose not to talk about it. Talking about him only led to an argument or made her annoyed. Maybe I wasn't doing the right thing by staying with him, but so far, he was making me happy.

"He's good," I replied. "Awesome, actually."

I flopped onto my belly and opened the chat with Gerard. He hadn't replied, but he must be busy with work. Two more nudes from me, and he replied with one word. No, two.

Daddy: Fuck. Hana.

His reaction was appropriate given the images I sent. One with my legs spread open and my dripping pink pussy visible. I couldn't remember what led me to take that, but I was glad I did. Then the other with me on my knees, tied up like a good girl for him. It had been tough to take that other one without help. I had never sent it to anyone before. I might sound silly, but I loved taking nudes.

I felt Cathie's stare on me, so I asked, "What?"

It was my best friend's turn to roll her eyes. She moved to the floor, sitting up against the couch as she flipped through channels. At least we could both agree on how boring the Klapdashians family were. We could both do better without needing the plastic surgery.

"When are we going to meet him?" she asked.

My eyes lit up. I sat up so fast my vision swam for a few seconds. "Really? You want to meet him." She shrugged. She was still pissed I dumped Joe. Dumping wouldn't be the right word since we were never in a relationship. But to her, that was the same, or worse. "Why can't you be happy for me?"

"I would be if you got yourself a better man."

"He's a good man," I said. But I didn't sound convincing enough for her. I hiked my knees up to my chest and wrapped my arms around my legs. "Gerard is a good man. He has changed for the better. I'm telling you."

"Yeah? I've seen the way he treats you."

"That was in the past," I reminded her. My best friend folded her arms on her chest as if saying really? I had to do more to convince her. Both of us. "Look, he's not the same person anymore. Gerard has changed, I promise. He cares about making me happy."

"People don't just suddenly change, Hana. If you're too in love to see it, I'm not." Having no reasonable reply to that, I made a show of zipping up my mouth and throwing the key. "You know what? I'll prove it to you."

That idea made me cautious. I dropped my feet on the floor and patted the couch for her to sit beside me. Frowning, she moved to my side, and I waited for her to type into her phone.

"What are you doing?" I asked when she said nothing.

"Proving he's a piece of shit," she answered.

I swallowed my comeback knowing she was coming from a place of love and worry. She put her phone against her ear, and I mouthed, "Who's that?" She couldn't be calling Joe or someone else because she thought I was silly.
