Soon January came, and Samantha was laying against Fred in the Gryffindor common room. Her chest up against his back with their legs sprawled out in front of them.

Fred was fiddling with her fingers making sure to always pay more attention to her left ring finger, where the promise ring he got her laid.

The fire was roaring in front of them warming up the room and Samantha sighs closing her eyes.

Harry and Ron were playing wizards chess in the corner while Ginny was sitting beside Samantha and Fred on the ground working on her class work, she would occasionally ask Samantha a question ever now and then.

"Have you figured out what to do with the egg yet?" Fred asks kissing the top of her head and Samantha opens her eyes.

"No, I honestly have no clue with what to do with it. It's just sitting on my desk collecting dust." Samantha grumbles and Fred laughs lightly.

"Don't worry Sammy, you'll figure it out soon." Ginny says looking over at Samantha. Samantha smiles at Ginny and she brings her hand up to the locker on around her neck fiddling with it anxiously.

"Thank you Gin." Samantha whispers and Ginny nods her head turning her attention back to her work.

Samantha honestly had no idea how the golden egg had a clue as to what would be the second task, she only prayed that it didn't involve anymore dragons.

A knock on the portrait door makes the Gryffindors turn towards it confused, who the hell knocks when they all know the password?

"Ron can you go get it, Harry's not going to know which piece to play for another while." Samantha says looking at the youngest red headed boy.

Harry looks at Samantha hurt while Ron laughs nodding his head, he walks over to the portrait door opening it.

Samantha could hear Ron talking to someone but she couldn't tell who the person was based on their voice.

"Sam." Ron says looking back at the sixth year and Samantha hums looking at Ron while Fred grabs her hand again and looks at the ring on her finger.

"Yes Ronnikins?" Samantha asks and his face scrunches up at the nickname making Samantha smile.

"Cedric wants to talk to you." He says and Samantha nods her head standing up out of Fred's arms. Fred pouts and Samantha rolls her eyes leaning down kissing his lips gently before walking to the door.

"Cedric, what do I owe the pleasure?" Samantha asks leaning against the portrait door frame and Cedric smiles lightly at Samantha.

"Have you figured out the egg clue yet?" Samantha shakes her head and Cedric puts his hands in his pockets smiling widely.

"I take it that you have?" She asks and Cedric nods.

"Come to brag about it? Not very Hufflepuff of you Ced." Samantha jokes making Cedric laugh lightly.

"Put it underwater." He says and Samantha looks at him confused, what on earth was he talking about?

"What?"

"Put the egg under water. Look you can use the perfects bathroom, I'll stand outside as guard so no other perfects go in." Cedric says and Samantha raises an eyebrow at him.

"And why are you helping me?" Samantha asks crossing her arms over her chest and Cedric smiles at her.

"One you're my friend, two I want at least one final Champion to be from Hogwarts, and three you helped me with the first task." Cedric says and Samantha laughs lightly nodding her head.
