I'm worried

I'm worried... My sisters haven't made contact and neither have the boys. I'm seven months pregnant and now I'm worried that they might actually succeed in taking my children.

I dug my feet into the dirt and lowered myself to my knees. I caressed my growing belly as I felt the breeze that mixed so well with the low gaze of the sun, whisk across my face.

I closed my eyes and just enjoyed it. I hadn't been outside in what felt like forever.

"Kin-Ji?"

I turned my head and saw the gardiner, Teagan.

"Oh.. nice to see you again Teagan." I spoke softly. She was the only nice person in this place, "What can I do for you?"

"Well... shouldn't I be asking you that?" She said as she came to sit beside me, "Irene wouldn't like you out here in the garden. It's too open, you could run."

I chuckled, "Run where Teagan? I'm seven months pregnant... I don't think I'm running anywhere.." my face frowned as I spoke.

I was going to be a mother in two months and I was nowhere near prepared.

"It'll all work out." She said, staring at her array of flowers.

"How'd you come to work for her?" I asked

"Everyone does things they're not proud of. I-Irene wasn't always like this. She was trustworthy, gentle... hell funny and smart. Over these past few months.. after she found out about you all and Ivy... I don't know.. she changed." Her smile faded and I could swear I saw her wipe away a tear.

"You sound like you were very fond of her."

"Yea.. well she was my first love.. and I hers- or so I thought-"

"Kin-Ji! What are you doing out here?!"

I turned around to see Irene marching towards us. I stood up instantly but Teagan remained on the ground, tending to her flowers.

"She just needed air, Irene. Calm down." Said Teagan without sparing her a glance

"Excuse me? I don't need you to speak, help." Irene hissed

Teagan chuckled, "I hope we speak again, Kin-Ji."

I turned to see Teagan give me a soft smile that I returned. Irene scoffed before gripping my wrist and pulling me inside.

"Guards, take her to Ivy and keep her away from the garden."

"Yes, Ms. Irene."

The guards each gripped onto my biceps and pulled me towards Ivy's room. I glanced over my shoulder only to see Irene heading back out to the garden.

Maybe I could use Teagan's affection against Irene. It's obvious that Irene still feels something and I can tell

That Teagan just wants the woman she loves back.
