I could hear muffled noises. Someone was screaming and another was trying to calm them down.
"I'm already being forced to--" the voice kept going in and out
I fluttered my eyes open to see Ivy standing in front of the doctor, his face was beet red and his eyes were bulging.
"Please, shut up." I spoke softly as I sat up slowly
"Mrs. Sato I'm--"
"Kin-Ji. Don't call me Mrs. Sato." I hissed, "What happened?"
The doctor glanced at Ivy and I spoke quickly, "I didn't ask Ivy, I asked you. Don't get on my bad side, especially not today."
She nodded her head as she turned back to me, "You had a panic attack Mrs. Sa--Kin-Ji. The babies are fi--"
My eyes shot open, "Babies??" That's when I realized, I had only just found out that I was pregnant still. I hadn't had any check ups. I didn't know what the fuck was going on in there.
I glance at my stomach then back at the doctor.
She lightly smiled, "Yes... babies, I even know the genders. Would you like to know?"
I heard a scoff from the other side of the room, my head whipped towards him.
"What?" I hissed
"I already had to claim one bastard, now I have to claim two?" his eyes were dark, he wasn't even really present.
"You've been using again, haven't you?" I snorted and rolled my eyes
"So what if I have? I can't be sober around you Kin-Ji. You make my entire ass itch." he spat
"Well.. wash it then." I said as I began to chuckle
He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest, "Kin-Ji...I love you. That hasn't changed but this person that you are now is doing nothing but pissing me off."
"Ivy, for years you've wanted us to be as cold and as blank as you are. Are you mad that I'm beating you at your own game?" I said staring into his eyes
He suddenly rushed over and landed a warm, hard, smack across my cheek before storming out. I took my tongue and licked the bit of blood that came from the corner of my mouth before smirking.
I glanced at the doctor who stood in shock.
"What did you say your name was again?" I asked sweetly
"D--Dr. Julia...But please just call me Julia." she said, scarcely
"I like you Julia. You remind me of myself before I let the darkness consume me. How old are you?" I asked
"I--I'm 25." she said before continuing, "Kin-Ji...Why did the darkness consume you?"
"Love, Julia...Love. It broke me and in return the darkness put me back together. It's like a sweet song that you didn't know you were singing. It pulled me in and I danced with it, loving every sweet note that poured out." I smiled at my words and looked down at my belly, "What are their genders?"
