As soon as she saw blood the princess went to work checking the man for signs of life. The man let out a sigh of pain when she touch him on the side. There was a large stab wound there and a large cut on his neck. The princess quickly took a needle and thread out of her basket and began to stitch up the wounds. The man was alive but passed out from blood loss. Now that the wounds have been stitched up they don't look that bad but he is still at risk of infection. The princess knew that there was healing herbs right next to the waterfall so she dawned her cloak and went outside in the horrible storm. Grabbing handfuls and handfuls of herbs she quickly went back into the cave. Mashing the herbs into a fine wet goo she slathered it on the man's wounds and began to cut the bottom of her dress to wrap it.

Suddenly a large blue bird with large white wings entered the cave, attached to its leg was a letter from one of the castle severest saying.
"Dearest Princess,
Please get back soon. I fear the storm will get worse, and the kingdom needs you to be safe.
Love servant Virgo
p.s. punish me."
With extra paper enclosed in the envelope and a quill and ink well as well the princess wrote a reply.
"Virgo,
Please send food, for I fear I will not be able to get back until the storm ends. I am in a place of shelter where I found an injured man. I believe he is from the war, I will stay here until he wakes up and is able to get on his way. Without fear of him getting even more hurt. Send enough food for two
Signed Princess Lucy."
She reattached the letter to the large bird's leg and sent it back to the castle. She started to prepare for a long wait by filling up her canteen and when she got back the man was awake.
