Sophie’s pov
Never again will I take a second-class flight with Levi Rivaille, ever.
The three of us walk out of the terminal, less than enthused. Levi is cursing in french, wiping his jacket off while I hold Benji in my arms. On the way over here some kid was walking back to his seat from the bathroom and sneezed all over him. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him freak out so much. I had no idea that he was such a clean freak though thinking back to everything about how he keeps his house and such it makes sense.
Either way it just got worse from there on out and it was then that I realized he was a hypochondriac to an extent. I reach out a hand and put it on his shoulder.
“Calm down there Frenchie. It’s going to be one hell of a vacation if you start to freak out now.”
He shoots me an unamused look before zipping his mouth shut. We go down to bag pick-up and wait for them to come around. As expected Benji was so amazed with the bag carousel that he was convinced that he just had to ride it.
“Nooooooo! Ride!”
“No Benji you can’t ride that.” I sigh while keeping tight hold on my toddler’s hand.
He keeps whining and trying to get to the carousel. Levi sighs as he kneels down to Benji and looks him right in the eyes, “Benjamin, listen to your mother. You can’t go and ride that. Chances of you getting hurt are too great and besides it’s filthy.”
“Such a cute couple~!” Someone says as they pass by us. I blush but it doesn’t look like those two heard them.
Benji pouts but falls silent. Levi straightens up and starts to pat himself down again. He’s so ready to just be out of the place. Too bad he has no idea of what he’s getting himself into with my family. If he thinks we can just go to my parent’s house and rest he’s wrong.
Our bags finally come along and we retrieve all of them. Levi carries the main load while Benji holds onto his Power Ranger backpack. We walk out to the general waiting area and I spot my brother and my dad sitting there waiting for me.
My brother spots me first. He pats my father on the arm and stands up. The two of them have wide smiles as we make it over to them. “Uncle Callum!” Benji yells and reaches for my brother. He grins and takes Benji into his arms, it’s also scary how similar those two look. They’re definitely related.
“Sophia!” My father opens his arms to me and hugs me tight. His cologne washes over me in a cloud, he always puts too much on. Still it’s been so long since I’ve been able to hug my daddy.
“I missed you so much.” I say into his jacket.
“I missed you too darlin’.” We break the hug and Benji leaps into his arms next with a cry of ‘grandpa!’.
Callum pulls me into a tight hug and I laugh as well, happy to see my idiot brother as well. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him or his own wife Patricia. Our hug lasts a few seconds before we step apart. Levi joins us and Benji is put down onto his legs.
I see that Callum is a bit hesitant to greet Levi but my father just jumps right in and introduces himself. Though Levi beats him to it. He sticks out a hand, “Levi Rivaille, nice to meet you.”
My dad ignores the hand and brings him right into a hug, “We don’t do handshakes around here. Nice to meet you, I’m Patrick.” Stepping back he smiles.
