Y/N's POV

This is nice, I think as I settle into my plane seat, snuggling into Peter's side.

"Comfortable?" He chuckled softly, swinging his arm around my shoulder to bring me closer.

I could get used to this. Again.

"Yes," I smile at him, but it doesn't reach my eyes. I still have so much I need to talk to him about.

As much as I just want to believe that everything will all work out from now on, I know that that's unrealistic. Every successful relationship is based on trust and communication. I mean sure, I trust Peter with my life, no questions asked, but trusting him with my heart is gonna take a bit more time.

"Sunshine, what's wrong?"

Here goes.

"Well, I'm going to preface this with a reminder that I love you," I begin.

"Oh no, um, shawarma, Y/N! Why'd you have to say it like that?"

"I'm sorry," I giggle, tucking into his side a bit more. "I just meant that I want you to keep that in mind when I tell you what I'm about to tell you."

"Okay," he says hesitantly, picking up a strand of my hair to fidget with.

"I just," I take a deep breath and steady my voice. "I trust you Peter, I really do, and you have to believe me on that one. But-"

"It's okay, N/N, I know it's gonna take a while for us to get back to where we used to be, in terms of our relationship. I know that you're the real deal, Y/N. I'm not gonna let you go ever again. So, don't feel rushed into anything, okay? We have our whole lives to be together. I mean, crap, that's what you want, right?"

I don't know when they started, but yeah, there's tears on my face now. I mean, holy shawarma, that was beautiful. "Yeah, yeah that's what I want," I wipe away my tears and press a swift peck onto his cheek.

"I love you, Sunshine," he picks up my hand and presses a kiss to my knuckles.

"I love you, too, bug-boy," I smile at him, a little wider this time.

"Something's still bothering you, isn't there?"

"It's, um, it's my parents," yeah, I still haven't told him about them yet...

"Your parents? Wait, they didn't- did they...?

"Yeah, they did," Peter pulls me closer to him rubbing my shoulder soothingly.

"When did they make it official?"

"During the blip, about four years ago."

"Wow, um, when did you find out?"

"A few days before we left for the trip."

"Oh my gosh, N/N, I'm so sorry, I should've been there for you. I never should've-"

"It's not your fault, Peter. It's not your fault, it's not mine, it's not Ethan's. We just have to," my breath hitches, but I continue, "we just have respect their decision."

"But your dad-"

"He still loves her," I start tracing little shapes on the back of Peter's hand to calm myself down.

"Then why'd he go through with it?"

"I think that's why he went through with it- because he loves her. He wanted her to be happy, and we just didn't do that for her anymore. I think- I think she's found someone else, Peter. I think she had a new family now."
