Hey guys! Long time, no update! I'm so so so so so so sorry about that! Thanks for sticking with this story even though my update schedule is the biggest joke EVER and the book itself kinda just sucks…

Anyway…

Onto the chapter!

~Y/N's POV because I really just don't feeling like writing from Peter's perspective right now~

We're on the floor. In the dark. Laughing like drunks and making shadow puppets on the ceiling with my phone's flashlight.

Don't ask me why, because I couldn't tell you.

"I'M A DINOSAUR, RAWR," I burst out laughing at Peter's ridiculousness, but calm myself down enough to join him.

"OH NO, NOT A SCARY DINOSAUR!"

"I'LL SAVE YOU Y/N!" Peter adds a new, possibly even more ridiculous persona to the mix, and I completely lose it.

It doesn't help that it's like, three in the morning.

It doesn't escape the notice of my sleep-deprived-self that whenever I laughed, Peter would smile at me. Smile at me like he used to. Like I was the only thing that mattered.

Was he telling the truth when he said he was lying?

Does he still… does he still love me?

"Sunshine, what's wrong?"

Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry…

"I just," I can't lie to him. I won't. What actual excuse do I have? "The thing-a-ma-bob!" I jump up from the floor and start searching by room, trying to render where I left it.

"The what?"

"You know, the thing- that I found- I was gonna show you, remember?"

"No," he looks at me like a crazy person, but at this point, it would be weirder if people didn't.

"Ah-ha!"

"Like, 'Take on Me'?"

"Not that, that's 'a-ha!' This," I pull out the jacket-wrapped mystery object. "This ah-ha."

"It's a jacket," he says slowly. "Y/N, I think you need to get some sleep."

"No! Inside the jacket!" I begin unwrapping the thingy, but I drop it with a shriek.

Why?

BECAUSE I ACTIVATED IT.

"What the hell!" Peter shouts, taking out his web shooters and spraying the thing silly. "Oh, sorry."

"No, no, I was about to say it, too."

We both stand there in shock from what we just saw.

Mysterio. Fighting Molten Man…

"Was that what I think it was?" I ask him hesitantly.

"But if that- then Beck," he stops short, turning white as a sheet.

"Oh no," I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but I think I'm following.

Kinda like me in Calculus.

Except this is life threatening, not just GPA and mental health-threatening.

Because if I'm thinking the same thing that Peter's thinking, Mysterio is one evil dude.

“I screwed up,” Peter begins.

“Yeah, you do that a lot, you're gonna need to be more specific,” I know I’m just pouring salt on the wound, but I couldn’t resist.
