Y/N's POV

Prague, Czech Republic

After one of the weirdest bus rides I've ever been on, we all arrived at some schmancy hotel that I couldn't pronounce the name of and I highly doubt any of us would normally be able to afford. Except for Harry, of course, and maybe Flash. An "upgrade from the tour company". Sure. One look at Peter and Ned and I knew exactly why we were here.

But hey, at least I get my own room! Not that I minded sharing with MJ back in Venice, but she and Harry are still giving me those stupid sympathetic glances. Honestly, they're worse than whatever Peter and I are going through.

Peter and I...

Like that'll ever be a thing again.

This trip has been strange to say the least for us. First he totally ignores me on the plane, then he suddenly wants to talk to me again in Venice. Sure, that was partly due to my crazy, caffeine-drunk rant, but who cares? Something is different.

He was my best friend, for so long. Then he was my boyfriend. Then we ignored each other. Now, we have infrequent, short, and excruciatingly awkward conversations.

I hate it.

Anyway, we're now sitting in the lobby, getting ready to go out to the Signal Light Festival. We're all decked out in glow sticks- it's ridiculous, utterly ridiculous (anyone get my reference ;) ), but none of us really care.

"Good news," something about Mr. Harrington's expression tells me we're not going to like what we're about to hear. "We're going to the opera!"

Cue the protests.

I discreetly turn to Peter, knowing he knows something about this. He's not so discreetly avoiding my stare. I don't blame him, I mean, I'm kind of embodying the whole "if looks could kill" thing right now.

My phone starts to ring, loudly. I turn away from Peter and switch off my phone, making a mental note to check that later. I return my attention to the unhappy teenagers surrounding me.

"Don't look at me!" Mr. Dell, the "cool" teacher raises his hands in defense.

"This is upgrade living, guys, c'mon," Mr. H pauses. "The tour company just gave us these tickets! For free! Do you have any idea how much opera tickets cost?"

"No," Flash says. "Because none of us have ever wanted to go to the opera. Ever."

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Flash," I mumble.

"Y/N, I'm flattered!"

"Don't get used to it, Eugene, this is a one-time thing."

Harry and MJ snicker at this. What's up with them lately? They're definitely spending more time together than apart.

Go Harry!

"Well, I think this is gonna be culturally enriching for us!" Ned says. So he's in on it...  I watch Ned and Peter closely- gosh, it looks like Peter's in physical pain. Why can't he just tell me what's going on?

"Thank you, Ned," Mr. Harrington continues, "everyone, this is gonna be, maybe, the best," pause, "four hours of our whole trip."

Cue the groans.

"Guys, I think this is gonna be really fun, seriously!"

It's not.

We all head back to our rooms to change into our "formal attire", and I take the opportunity to check who called me earlier.
