Ain

This little animal has an arrow in him.
Ain looked around.
I sense a presence.
Another hunter, hm. An extremely hateful one. No. An ally, nonetheless.
But not someone I should come in contact with.

"Tch, it escaped. That thing ought to be slaughtered, then sold for better."

Light flooded my vision. I wiggled my legs. A tall stick like figure. Ain?
The figure looked over. It looked like it analysed me from head to toe.
'Do you feel alright?' It asked, in a monotone manner, like it was saying any other statement.
I sat up. A simple 'yes' would do.

"Yes. Besides the fact that I have just awoken, I feel normal, almost as I would any other day. Please do tell me the reason behind the question?"

I winced in my mind. Why did I have to go overboard with the words again?

"Alright. I ask the question because I found you. Well, you are here because I found you. Unresponsive to anything. And I took you here."

I didn't respond. I had no words I could respond with. I simply avoided any more eye contact. Although I spoke a lot in complicated manners, I had no idea what Ain was talking about.

"Are you sure you are alright?"

"Ain, why'd you come out of the hibernation cave this time? It wasn't solely for the purpose of saving me, was it?"

The old face seemed to have shown bitter. Not bittersweetness, just pure bitter.

"How could I have found you if I stayed in?"

A logical statement that didn't seem to answer a question. It seems Ain had to solve something. It wasn't me.

"And, how would you have been unresponsive in the first place?"

Questions to answer my question. This is why Ain is such a mysterious being.

"I remember I came out of my den and... Oh! I the felt a sharp pain. That's the only thing that I remember before I..."

"You saw my sillouette. Right?"

"Right."

Ain looked like Ain was in thought. Not deeply. But, thinking.
And I hear a slight mumbling.

"So that was who the angry ally was. I remember now. My mission. I shouldn't have saved that pink plump creature. His people were what could've destroyed us. Those underground dens collapsing under the weight of our shelters, toppling the houses, destroying them. They dared to build those dens, even though the shelters were clearly there before."

Ain looked at me with what seemed like a scorn.

"Them."

Ain sent an earthquake down my spine with a look.
Ain the Android guardian, the old stickman, the protector, the one. That was gifted at a mysterious time, when the two legged had hurt us.
The Ain.
Was crumbling. How many years was it since then? Since the great devastation? Since the great Ain saved us?

"GO! SAVE THEM. Don't eat them. WE HAVE NO POWER LEFT. PROTECT. PROTECT THEm. GO! My fellow hum@^5."

Ain's good, strong voice died out. Who was Ain talking to? How can powerful creatures have no power? Can creatures die out like Ain did? What is an Android, really? What did Ain say? 'We have no power.' No power. What power? What we believe to be having power is being influential, is able to control, and the willingness to do something, anything! Ain had that, didn't Ain? Now that I think about it... Who is 'them'? Who is 'us'? We always think Ain is referring to us... but Ain never specifically mentioned us. My fellow who? Not comrades, as I heard a 'hu'. No. This can't be right. How can Ain be so confusing? I could not really keep up to speed with Ain's mind. A fast thinker. What is Ain?
What.
Is.
Ain.
I thought this as I witnessed Ain in pieces. This could not be right. I needed to know what was going on. It needed to be fixed.

"Ain. AIN!"

Light flooded my vision. I stretch my metal arms up to the light. A small plump creature. Taia?
