Chapter 6: The Mineshaft Crew

While I was wandering around my house, I got some thoughts to explore the ravine nearby, which has an abandoned mineshaft and also where I got out when I got lost in a cave last time. So i decided to climb down to one of the bridges on the mineshaft. I decided to walk around one of those tunnels that is sticking out in the ravine's walls. I found some ores sticking out within these tunnels, and I decided to think that this is why there is a mineshaft being built here. I was wandering around these corridors to see that everything was completely intact. It is so weird why was it completely intact, and I realize why:

It was an active mineshaft.

since this mineshaft is still active, I needed to find who run this place, so I decided to find the central chamber, which is a huge room with a dirt floor.

While  I was looking for the central chamber, I saw some skeletons mining, and I was like "What?" And I decided to ask them this: "Is this mineshaft still alive?". They responded me with this: "The mineshaft is still alive but us aren't". I wanted to know why are they alive, despite they are looking like this, well not all of them are looking like this. There are zombies who where also running this mineshaft alive. I ask the zombies, if they have any ideas what happened to them. Which it turns out, they knew. Thus, they decided to tell a story on how they got here:

"Long time ago,  January 24, 1848, we heard the news there was a Gold Rush in California, so we decided to go there, and we have fun times at there, so many gold. The people were happy, and then we got rich, but at that time when the gold rush end, since 1855 we decided to head back to our hometown, and we got lost, we don't know where we are at that time, and we wandered around here in this dreaded place. We found a cave, then we found gold. And so the Gold rush again has started, only for ourselves. We have a great time, and we forgot one main important thing: food. We decided to farm, but the soil was so bad, it didn't grow any plants, we tried our best, but nothing changed. So we slowly starved to death, placing corpses top of the mesa plateau, and slowly losing members until I was the last person to die. Suddenly, a lightning strike our grave, and we were given another life, as undead corpses. We decided to continue doing our gold rush business, up until this day"

After hearing the story, I ask them if they know what year is this, and their answer is 1890, which is wrong. I told them its 2021, and they're shocked. They called me a liar, and then I showed the calendar. They didn't realized that they were just mining with their entire lives. They were so sorry for me, and they decided to update the calendar to the most recent version. They also showed me their storage system. It has so many ores, and I told them this is why were on 2021, the amount is so big. 

I love exploring their mineshafts and the ravine within it, but I wanted to get out. One of the skeleton showed my the way out, and I exited on the other side of the plateau. I didn't realize that the ravine I entered was nearby, and I was so blind. I told them that I will help them so mining would be much more fun.
