Part 13

Y/N Pov:

The day was finally over and I could now go home and rest. All my happiness faded the second I realized that my parents weren't home, probably with their 'someone better'. "Ugh!" Looks like I am home alone...

Third Person's Pov:

Time Skip - 3 days later

You were sitting at the very corner of the ground because you didn't want anybody to see your dull face and judge you, under a shade, waiting for Jungkook since it was lunch break. Suddenly Kai came up to you smiling and sat down beside you on the concrete stairs.

You looked at him and smiled slightly as he came up with conversations to start talking to you to which you replied shortly with "mmh", "oh" or "yeah".

A few minutes later you got a call from your granny. You frowned because you knew for a fact that she never calls you during school. "Hello?" "Oh hey, sweetie" she greeted. "Yes grandma, why'd you call?" You asked her curiously. "I hope you aren't busy. I wanted to tell you something." "No no, it's lunch break so I am free now." After a while of silence, she spoke up. "Your parents went to the lawyer this morning and got a divorce. I'm sorry. I didn't want to tell you this on-call especially when you are in school but I had no choice since your parents decided that you will start living with me from now on as they are selling your previous house and it would be better to live with me than living alone." Now this time, it hurt more just knowing that your mom and dad are deciding to get divorced than your family completely breaking apart.

Tears were beginning to well up in your eyes already. "Okay, granny. I'll come to your house after school" you said that rather came out as a whisper. She mumbled an okay and ended the call.

"What happened Y/n? You okay?" Kai asked. He placed his hand on your back seeing that you weren't responding or even moving. But that was all that he had to do for you to break down. Knowing that this was his chance, he brought you in a hug to comfort you.

"What happened Y/n-ahh. Tell me" he insisted. "My parents got divorced" you mumbled not wanting too many people to hear. "It's okay Y/n. I know what you are going through cause I went through this as well. I know it's hard but time will pass and one day you'll completely forget what happened. But for now, you have to be strong and try to be independent hmm?" You nodded your head like a baby and stood up. "Thanks a lot, Kai. Means so much to me that you care. But sorry I have to search for Jungkook cause we were supposed to meet up." You bowed in respect as he helped you. "No need to worry. I'll always care." He smiled as you waved and left.

Jungkook Pov:

I walked to the ground area to see Y/n. We had decided to kind of ditch our everyday friend group sitting and spend some quality time together. I was really excited because we haven't seen each other since this morning. I feel something strange in Y/n as she has been just a little distance from all of us. Maybe it's because of her family problems. I shrugged my shoulders and stepped into the ground. I was squinting my eyes and looking here and there in search of Y/n.

I started to walk forward in the hope to find her. I finally spotted her in the very corner and smiled. But it didn't last as I saw the scene in front of me. Kai and Y/n were...hugging each other.....very tightly as Kai's hand went up and down her back. He whispered something in her ear. I stepped back not wanting to 'ruin' their moment. I walked back to the canteen with heavy and angry steps. I went to buy a soft drink to calm myself down.

As I was buying, Byeol came up to me and stood next to me. I leaned my side to the wall near buy as she started talking absolute nonsense. I was about to leave when I saw Y/n entering the cafeteria. My eyes soften for a second when I saw her eyes red, teary and puffy until she made eye contact with me and I rolled my eyes and looked at Byeol and smiled.

I could see from the corner of my eyes that she was coming towards me so I did what I thought was the best at that moment. "Should we sit at a table with everybody else?" I asked Byeol and she nodded agreeing. We both turned toward the table and started walking. I put my hand to Byeol's shoulder and brush passed against Y/n.

I can see she became sad and pouted. Wow! Acting all sad now? Pftt...
We sat with everybody and they were also very confused but at this point, I could care less. Y/n came to the table and started looking for a seat. Byeol was sitting beside me and on the other side, Jimin was sitting. After seeing Y/n, he instantly stood up for Y/n, so that she could sit with me as we usually do. But this time I held his wrist firmly "Stay at your place." I let go and started talking Byeol again. Everybody furrowed their eyebrows and Y/n quietly sat at the other end of the table.

Y/n Pov:

Two days passed and Jungkook still wasn't talking to me. I told Anna everything and that I missed him a lot as well. Granny is trying everything in her power to cheer me up but my mind couldn't stop thinking if my parents even loved me. What if I was a mistake? And every time I feel like I am the one to be blamed for everything. I wish Jungkook would start talking to me...atleast for now...cause this time, I really need him.

Anna's Pov:

As a best friend, I feel the need to solve Y/n's problems. Atleast the ones that I can. So I am in search of Jungkook to bring him back to reality and basically ask him to talk to Y/n about whatever the cause of his 'silent treatment' is. Because I know she needs him the most at this time...

Jungkook's Pov:

I was standing in front of my locker, placing some books with Byeol who was clinging onto me as usual. I secretly rolled my eyes, listening to her rambling. Nonsense!

Soon Anna came up to me and saved me from this radio machine. God! Who gives a whole speech on their freaking Gucci shoes. Oh right! Taehyung does. But he doesn't sound annoying.

"Why aren't you talking to her?" "Not talking to who?" She gave a 'dumb' look. "You know exactly whom I am talking about. Y/n!" "What about her?" I asked trying to look unbothered. "What the heck dude! Do you even know what she is going through? She freaking me-" I cut her off. "Does she know what I am going through?! Do YOU guys know?! No! You don't!" She looked at me for a second then spoke up. "Then tell me 'what you are going through'."

"Your 'best-friend' freaking hugged that stupid Kai the other day at lunch when only Y/n and I supposed to spent the break alone. Even though it is clear that he likes her, she hugged him...tight....they looked like a couple in love....." whispering the last part, I looked down. "Are you dumb?!?!? Did you really just jump into conclusions without even asking Y/n for a reason. Really Jeon? C'mon! She has the right to explain don't you think." I kept my gaze on the floor because I know I was wrong. I knew it! "Her Grandma called her and told her that her parents got divorced. And because Kai went through the same thing, he comforted her. She was crying and needed you. But guess what? You were too busy accusing her on something that she never did. Trust her a bit and go and explain to her about your behaviour. That poor girl thinks she did something wrong. She is suffering Jeon, and I request you to help her and comfort her with all you have."

Running down the hallway, I tried finding Y/n but failed. I looked in the cafeteria, the ground..everywhere but there was no sign of her. I ran out of breath so I stopped. Resting my hands on my knees and bending down while panting, I heard a giggle that sounded way too familiar.

I went to the class and as soon as I was about to enter, I heard a loud gasp.
I opened the door to a heartbreaking view...
