The next day was....more than miserable. Diane wasn't rested, she couldn't sleep. Her eyes were tired and red like she hadn't slept in weeks, which she felt like she hadn't. Diane wanted to hide from any contact with John. She didn't want to talk to him if she didn't have to. She feels she might break down and cry right then and there. It felt like she hadn't even left her apartment in more than 3 days. No fresh air, no reading. She laid in bed feeling paralyzed by guilt and depression.

Suddenly, there was a soft knock at the door. It was faint and gentle but it startled Diane. No one had come by in awhile. She felt ugly, and stressed. Should she answer the door? The person on the other side is bound to think something was wrong with her appearance. With a heavy sigh, Diane stumbled over to the door. Trying to seem happy and genuinely taken care of but she didn't think she made it seem that way.

When the door opened....it was John. How could this happen to her? John of all people. How could she look him in the eyes knowing she'd cheated on him. With Nick one of Johns best friends too. Diane's face immediately went pale as John stood there with a smile on his face. It quickly faded to a frown once he noticed how tired she looked.

"What's the matter? It looks as if you haven't slept in months." John said placing his hands on either side of her face. The tears welled up in her deep eyes as she breathed in and out slowly trying not to cry. The fact that she'd cheated on someone as sweet and caring as John broke her. She cracked, cracked in two. Without another thought, she let all her tears out. Falling into John, he held her to him. Warming her with his arms wrapped tightly around her. Diane cried like a little girl, but what could she do. John didn't mind, he didn't care what was wrong. All he wanted was to make sure Diane had someone right now.

John took his hands and ran them through her hair in effort to calm her and let her know that he's here for her whenever and where ever. Diane knew this, and that's what made her even angrier with herself. John kissed her head lightly and kept her safe in his arms, having no knowledge of the reason she was crying so harshly. He knew she was in pain, no one just cries like that for no reason. He knew he was the one she could cry to. He was the one she felt comfortable with. He was the one who she loved with all her heart and would love forever.

John picked up her legs and held her as she started to breathe heavily. She felt so guilty crying. John should be the one crying not her. He didn't even know....he still doesn't know. Diane was a mess, a complete and utter mess. He carried her to the bed and gracefully laid her down, pulling the blankets up and over her. In the midst, Diane watched him giving her all his attention. She knew she didn't deserve this, but she didn't have it in her to bring it up. All she wanted to do was stay with him forever and ever. Which is what she was determined to do.

"You're alright, now." He whispered to her, kissing her temple lightly. His hair brushed her cheek, giving her a sense of comfort. As he was ready to leave, Diane grabbed his hands.

"Will you please stay, Johnny?" Is all she mustered out in her fit of cries. John looked over to the open space to the right of her and looked in her stressed and needful eyes.

"Yeah." He said simply, before climbing in next to her and pulled her in by her waist to him. All John knew was she needed him more than ever and he was always gonna be that person for her. Diane's cries were over now, but the pain didn't subside one bit. She held his hands tightly and dragged her fingers up and down his arm draping over her stomach. Soon she fluttered her eyes shut and fell into a deep sleep. As did John.
