Luigi knew something was wrong right away.
He didn't know why, though.
As he made a cup of coffee that morning, he was gripped by a terrible feeling.
These thoughts of impending doom latched onto the young man almost daily, and while sometimes he's right, it's usually his ever-paranoid mind crying wolf.
It's because of the latter that he usually doesn't believe his own fears.
Something felt different this time, though.
And so, after breakfast, Luigi decided to check over his manor, just to prove to himself that it's fine.
It's just his house, why should he be afraid? He's lived in it's walls for years.
He made sure to meticulously inspect each room of each of the two floors. Not a single thing that should be worth fearing.
He took a deep breath before he checked the basement, however.
It was dark and dusty inside, though, aside from some boxes and empty shelves, not much was in the massive underground storing room. This was because he didn't own enough items to have much of a need to fill the basement much.
He looked around the dark room, before a silver light began to fill the area. He looked to the source and his stomach felt like it fell.
A large, grey heart that seemed like it held smaller hearts floating inside.
He knew the Chaos Heart when he saw it.
Why was it here?
How did it get here?
Wasn't it destroyed, or at least in some other situation that would have logically prevented it from appearing in his basement?
Whatever the truth was, the fact was it's still here.
Luigi had to get it out.
His home was built upon a small hill, so maybe he could get it to roll away. Then, hopefully, it will be discovered and taken away from him.
It was a simple, easy plan, however, he had a good feeling it would work.
He took time in forcing the big, glassy heart up the steps and towards his front door.
It was then, Luigi learned, the Chaos Heart is heavy.
It was difficult, but eventually, he got it to his porch. He moved the Chaos Heart to the side of the porch itself, and, with as much strength as he could, pushed it off and down the hill.
Soon, it hit a tree, and stayed still.
Now, Luigi had to wait for its discovery, and then that will be the end of it.
At least, he thought it'd be that easy.
