He nervously rushed down the stairs.
He repeatedly glanced back, gulping. Seeing the body in the guest room had scared him so badly that now, it hit him how unsafe this all was.
Whoever that was had died, now their blood covered the living room floor and his body. He whimpered a bit and curled up onto the couch. Was anything going to happen as a result?
Something had to happen.
Something had to happen.
He slowly began to start crying. He was terrified. Knowing how the Chaos Heart was, he couldn't even begin to imagine what was going to happen now.
Eventually, he had fallen asleep.
His dreams held a never-ending ocean of blood. He heard broken breathing, like whoever was breathing was about to die. He shuddered. He tried to move around, maybe find some kind of raft, but, eventually, he felt something at his leg. Suddenly, he was grabbed.
In that instant, Luigi awoke to a notification.
"Hello.
This message is to inform you of what has been happening in the outside world.
It has been: 3 days since your initial capture.
•Search parties are being prepared. They intend to try finding you by tomorrow. They won't, of course.
•The family of the person dead in your guest bedroom already knows that he is dead. Investigations have begun already.
•How's your perception of reality doing?
:-)"
Luigi froze, and he heard screaming that sounded like it came from the guest bedroom. He fell from the couch in shock.
He scrambled to his feet. He was already a little dizzy. He tried to ignore what happened.
He was asked how his perception of reality was doing. The timing had to be on purpose there's no way it was real.
He still was worried. It still was going to go downhill.
Maybe he could just go back to sleep. Sure, his dreams were scary, but maybe it would be better than reality. He went up to his room, dodging figures in the hall, and went into his room. He looked around in case something was wrong. He then saw something in the corner. It stared down at him with a massive grin. He still crawled into bed.
"Give in. It'll make everything easier," Luigi heard from seemingly nowhere at all.
He silently refused, trying to go to sleep.
He felt the thing's gaze burning into him anyway.
Eventually he got comfortable enough to rest.
Maybe he could ignore this hell for a while more.
