Now nervous, Luigi ate breakfast. He was waiting for something to happen.
At the slightest noise, he'd prepare for something.
But there was always nothing.
He'd freeze when the floorboards creaked, waiting for the Chaos Heart to somehow create a nightmare of it.
It never happened.
He would glance at every thing in the room he walked in, to see if anything was wrong
Not a thing was wrong, everything was as it should be.
He felt helpless in his own home.
After what happened when he awoke, he knew.
The Heart had to be here to get him.
The thought was one his mind invented, but even then, Luigi could not decipher it.
He spent hours waiting for something. Anything at all.
But everything was as uneventful as ever. The house was quiet, like it was always safe.
Luigi refused to believe it was.
He was in a panic, knowing something was going to happen.
It had to.
It had to.
It had to.
It had to.
It had to.
But it didn't.
He didn't know what the entity in his basement wanted with him, but chances are, he was making getting it too easy.
Eventually, he figured that nothing was coming, resting on the couch.
Maybe all this was for nothing?
No. Of course not.
He felt a breath on the back of his ear.
Luigi shot up, trying to see who could have done this.
Nobody.
It's just him.
All the fear returned, and it only took nineteen seconds.
He went back to his anticipation.
And so, the day ran slow.
Everything dragged on and on and on and on and on and on and on.
But just as it was,
Nothing.
Luigi was tired by the day's end.
Drained from waiting for something to occur almost all day.
He shook his head to try staying awake as he got ready for bed. He took it slow, in case it was back.
When he was done and ready to go to bed, Luigi went into his bedroom. He glanced around.
Looks fine to me...
Then, he spotted a note on his bedside table.
He picked it up to read it, and his heart skipped a beat.
"BE READY"
What is this supposed to mean?!
He reluctantly got under the covers, though.
All that he can bring himself to do right now.
But what the future holds was definitely going to be worse.
