She looked down from the balcony, at her husband, still dressed in his business attire minus his jacket and tie, the sleeves of his white shirt rolled back... his hair slightly disheveled...
He was playing football in the vacant lot on the side of the street with the neighborhood kids. He was a natural with the children... always managing to spend time with them whenever he got a chance from his busy work schedule.
Married life, the second time around, had been so very different from their first. There was nothing that she didn't share with him. There was nothing he held back from her... his feelings, his frustrations, things that made him nervous and/or aggravated when it came to the community service he did.
He shared it all with her... included her in all of his professional and community projects. In a short span of time, she had learned the ropes of his business and had become avidly involved in the creative department. Yet, she much preferred to accompany and assist him at his martial arts school... where he taught self-defense and martial arts to the women of the community... shirtless...
She knew that 60% of the women came there to learn the important skills, while the other 40% came of ogle at him. She didn't blame them though... her man was drool worthy with or without clothes...
And she no longer felt insecure... her trust in him unwavering... that man did everything to make her happy, make her feel loved... and he was a man of impeccable honor...
Coming back to the present, she watched as he gently rubbed dust off a small boy's cheek after he had taken a fall to the ground. Her heart swelled... seeing his gentleness.
As the sky grew dark, he called it a night... promising them that they will continue their game over the weekend, seeing at it was close to supper time and the kids had to head home before it got completely dark.
He watched the children run off into their respective homes with a smile. And as if he could feel her gaze on him, he looked up in her general direction.
A goofy smile spread across his lips. He rushed his way into the house, and she waited to meet him with awaited breath.
He walked in through their bedroom door... his white shirt covered in dirt. She walked into the room, taking in his disheveled state. He looked down at himself, a little embarrassed.
"I should probably head into the shower first..." he said, slightly out of breath. "But I need a kiss right now..." he begged. She smiled at his antics... he was too cute...
So far removed from the hardcore mafia drug lord she had first met...
"Well then, I guess I shall not disappoint you..." she answered cheekily, encircling her delicate arms around his neck. He grinned back, holding her waist.
"You never disappoint, Mrs. Kurtulus..." he whispered, leaning in to kiss her lips.
"Wait..." She said pulling back slightly. He meet her eyes, looking slightly confused.
"How come you only play football with the little boys in the neighborhood?" she asked him curiously.
"What do you mean?" he asked, slightly confused.
