At sharp 9:00 am, he stood at her doorstep. Still unsure of how to react and how to stop those invasive thoughts from entering his mind. He was afraid he would scare her. It was best if he refrained from making eye contact, hoping to hide the emotions that would unwillingly get exposed.
He rang the doorbell once and took a deep breath, nervous to see her again. Eager to see her again... as if it had been ages since he saw her. A minute later she opened the door and all the resolutions he had just made to himself disappeared into thin air...because god was she looking beautiful. Even more so than yesterday. How was it even possible? he wondered, taking in her bare face, devoid of any makeup, her long hair still wet from her shower... hanging loose, a pair of small hoops adorning her ear lobes, and the simple full sleeve, floral dress that accentuated her hourglass figure. The dress ending at her knees, hugging her every curve. The smell of roses and cherry blossoms surrounded him. A fragrance he was slowly getting addicted to... and craving for...
He lowered his eyes to her bare feet again, hoping he hadn't offended her with his outright appreciation of her appearance. Even her feet were gorgeous... a silver anklet on her right foot sparkling as the sunlight fell on it...
"Uh... Gunaydin" he mumbled, and then cleared his throat. Hoping to get rid of how husky his voice had suddenly become. His throat, suddenly parched.
"Gunaydin" she said, her voice a lot more welcoming than yesterday. He looked up to see her expression, hoping he had tamed down his own raging emotions.
She was smiling at him. Although the smile didn't reach her eyes, it felt genuine. Not inviting, yet still polite. He smiled back, confused by her sudden change in attitude towards him. She avoided much eye contact, preferring to stare at the button of his shirt as usual, but he was grateful that there was no evident hostility on her part.
Why? he wondered.
"Ready to go?" he asked, gathering more control of his raging emotions. She hesitated.
"Do you want to come in?" she offered, looking at him before focusing her gaze back on the button on his shirt. He stared back, surprised by the invitation. Unsure of what to do.
Was she just being polite or was she genuinely offering?
"I made breakfast" she said, taking a step back in an effort to allow him to enter. His stomach rumbled loudly at the mention of breakfast and he looked at her, a little embarrassed. He was starving... This time, he got a real smile out of her. One that reached her sparkling eyes and he was proud of himself of being the cause of it. He was ready to embarrass himself for however long he could in order to keep that smile on her face.
It transformed her into a completely different person... heart achingly beautiful.
He nodded politely, entering the cabin he was secretly dying to see. Mostly because of its beauty from the outside... but slightly because he wanted to know more about her. He looked around the interior, thoroughly impressed by the clean and minimalistic setup. A small sitting area with a cozy fireplace. A marble counter separating the kitchen from the sitting area. Adjacent to the kitchen was the dining table.
