While she waited for him, she thought back to the conversation they had just had with Ana's attending physician. The doctor had informed that Ana's coronary bypass was scheduled to be done tomorrow evening. Azer had arranged for the best cardiac surgeon in Istanbul to conduct the procedure. Tomorrow would be extremely stressful for all of them... especially Azer. The 6+ hour long procedure running past midnight. She had decided to stay with him... knowing he would not be leaving the hospital until the procedure was over... he would need her support.
The screams of a woman suddenly caught her attention. She looked near the entrance lobby as a woman was being wheeled in on a stretcher, bloody and hysteric. Nurses and doctors surrounding her.
"Save my baby" she cried. The woman's cries making her thoroughly uncomfortable...
She got a glimpse of the slight bump on her abdomen, the clothes over it soaked in blood.
"Please save my baby" she screamed. "Don't let anything happen to him" she said to the man who was next to her, gripping her hands and trying to soothe her.
"Save him.." she begged as she was being wheeled into the emergency department.
She stood rooted to the spot. The woman's cries throwing her back to her own past... where she had been surrounded by white walls... loneliness... and an empty womb.

The first thing she noticed as she regained consciousness was the sterile stench. She frowned, her eyes still straining to open... the pressure behind her eyes too strong.
She heard the beeping of the machines surrounding her. Felt the IV needle stuck in her arm... her hands and feet completely numb...
And her abdomen... unexpectedly barren.
She jerked her eyes open, her hands suddenly feeling over her abdomen... trying to feel for the slight protrusion she had recently noticed... the slight weight she had been carrying...
Panic rushing through her veins as she realized the lack of the softness... her stomach completely flat... as if the bundle of love protected in her womb had completely vanished into thin air... as if it had never been there...
Her baby...she thought, raising her heavy head from the pillow, her fearful eyes looking down at her stomach.
She was in a hospital gown. Tubes and machines attached to her. A nasal cannula forcibly pushing oxygen into her.
She tried to calm herself and felt around the region of her abdomen, touching a spot that rendered searing pain, making her whimper and throw her heavy head back onto the pillow.
A million thoughts rushing through her... the haze of physical pain subsiding... while the knowledge of her empty womb, ravaging through her.
Her chest heaved and a sob erupted from within her chest... her mind flashing her the events prior to waking up here.
They were all dead. All of them... Yilmaz, Can, Serkan, Ceylan, and Ceyhan. The gas explosion killing them all while she went outside in the yard to pick some fresh berries.
