She slide down the door, unable to hold onto herself. Grieving for the tiny life... dreaming of what could have been... a little boy, almost 7 years old... part of him and part of her... spoiled rotten by his uncles and aunts... loved dearly by his Babaanne.... loved dearly by his father...
A little boy with dark hair, chocolate brown eyes, and chubby cheeks... a mirror image of his father, inhabiting the same innocence and stubbornness...
Them all together.
A real family.
But the reality she had lived through had been much more lonely....
There was only her. No him...no family... and no baby...
She sat there on the floor... stoic and out of tears... drained from the daily pain she lived through.
Gathering some strength to stand upright and walk to her room, she made her way to the bed... her eyes capturing the half-folded t-shirt she had left unfolded on the edge of her bed... his t-shirt...
Pulling the dress over and off her body, she pulled the t-shirt on, snuggling under the duvet over her bed... closing her eyes and awaiting for the darkness to engulf her. But instead... she saw him.
Remembered the genuine concern and care she had witness just minutes ago... as if disturbed by her pain. She recalled the sheen of moisture she had seen in his eyes before he hugged her... as if her pain had agonized him...
The emotions in his eyes so similar to how he used to see her... before all the problems between then emerged.
He was confusing her.
This new Azer... caring and soft... reminding her of the man she had slowly but surely fallen madly, unconditionally, and irrevocably in love with...
STOP!... she forced her mind, her hands gripping the duvet... recalling the Azer that had ruthlessly murdered her child... she had to remember this... never let go of it... her baby's life was sacrificed by him...
She would never forget. And she would never forgive.

He sat on the picnic table on her porch, a few feet away from her door. Her quiet sobs still audible from behind the door. She was still crying... his heart breaking for her... incapable to do anything to help her with this pain...
Sobs eventually subsided into sniffles, before he heard her footsteps leading away further into her home.
His heart feeling as if someone had squeezed and punched it repeatedly... the pit of his stomach feeling hollow...
He rested his elbows on his knees, his hands hanging loosely between his knees, his head hung low and his eyes closed. Trying to erase the sight of her looking so damn vulnerable and tortured.
Hopeless and hurt.
His feet... unable to walk away from the house... unable to walk away from her... especially in the state she was in...
