Leaves crunched. Trees swayed. Towering over the three teenagers were the long dark oak wood branches which, if you glanced at quick enough, looked like daggers. The whistle of the wind erupted into their ears making them shoot their heads around to see if anyone was following them. Every stick cracked when stepped upon and this did not ease the frantic high school students.
"Stiles this doesn't really look like the sheriff station or your dads office." The girl was promised a sneak peak at the latest case which Stiles' father was working on. Not a chilling walk through the ill-lit forest.
"You didn't tell her did you?" Her other half stopped and turned to the other boy present.
"Scott, do you think she would have come if she knew."
Stiles and Scott looked at each other and then back to the confused girl before bursting out laughing. This only caused Rosie to grow irritated with once again being out of the loop with the two's antics.
"Knew what?"
"Well I heard my dad leave and heard on his radio that someones found a body-"
"Half a body actually." Interrupted Scott.
Stiles then gave Scott a glare and then continued. "Yes half a body. Now we are here to find the other half. Okay now that's settled shall we?" He pointed in the direction they were heading at first and began walking but stopped when only one followed. "Rosie its okay. Its not like your body is cut in half now is it?"
"That's not helping the images already created in my head at the minute. So what your saying is, you woke me up to bring me to a muddy forest, which by the way is freezing, to look for a body. Lastly do you even know what half of the body we are looking for?" She huffed like a small child but also had the upper hand as she knew full well that Stiles just heard 'half a body' and bolted to his phone without hearing the valid information.
"Well yes and if your cold you can just have my jacket, here." Cold and warm hands brushed against each other as the charcoal jacket was exchanged from Stiles to Rosie. This exchange enabled the heartbeat in one of their bodies to increase majorly. And that was Stiles. "Yeah I don't need it I'm pumping with excitement and eagerness. Now let's go find this body!"
Eager to find the other 50% of the body some joggers could not find, he jumped forward obvious that the cold was biting at his skin but he however did not show it to the girl he gave his jacket to. Before following, the McCall twins exchanged a look as if they could send messages between them about the animated boy they call their best friend.
Once Rosie and Scott had followed Stiles up the hill he was trekking up he suddenly came to a stop and then moved to an army position on the floor, the other two following suit. Flash lights erupted through the abundance of trees making them realize that the Sheriff's department haven't found anything either. Both had been unlucky in their findings.
Once Stiles believed the time was right he jumped up excitedly and ran towards the flash lights which were yielded by his fathers department. Rosie and her asthmatic brother followed slowly behind, while trying to get Scotts breath back.
Before either of them could catch up barking from a dog was heard and they knew then Stiles' genius plan to run near them had failed. He was caught. Not only was he caught but was caught by his own father.
"This delinquent belongs to me." Sheriff Stilinskis voice boomed over the sound of dogs barked and leaves crunching. Their exchanges were muffled for both Scott and Rosie as they hid behind a near tree which concealed them from the lecture they would be having from the Sheriff. "Now where are your usual partners in crime?"
"Scotts at home and Rosie well shes obviously at home with Scott because you know their twins." The nervous boy panted as the lies came stammered from his mouth.
"I am aware." Stilinski shone his torch near where the other two 'delinquents' were hiding. "Scott you out there? Rosie?"
Moments passed with awkward silences involved and Stilinski then dragged his son out of the woods back to the boys pride and joy, his blue jeep. The twins then took off walking backwards to go anywhere but here in the forest where they too, could get caught. Rain patting on them as they walked in utter silence, constantly looking round whenever a noise was made.
In his steps Scott stopped suddenly and looked into the distance between the trees. His sister also stopped shortly after him wondering why he stopped and what he was looking at. Not long after a herd of deer's came charging towards the two, making one fall to the floor and the obvious smart one, to move out the way.
Once the herd of deer had passed, Scott sat up missing two things. His inhaler and his sister. He began wheezily calling out for his sister but at the volume he was saying her name he knew deep down no one would hear him. Using the only valuable thing he had left, he used his phone light to guide him to first find his inhaler then his own blood and flesh.
While moving the miniature light around near the floor he discovered the reason they had each been out in the forest at night. Half a body. A womans body in fact. With her eyes open but they were no longer seeing but instead hold the memories of her fate. With seeing this surprise Scott jumped and fell down a rather steep hill rolling down it aggressively until he came to a stop at the bottom.

"Your telling me you lost your own sister but instead of looking for her you went home?" Stiles screeched over the phone and into Scotts ear once he had finally gotten home from the forest and after the unusual events which occurred after.
"Well that sounds bad but yeah I did because I guessed she would be at home and she is." Scott tried to reason with both Stiles and himself as he did in fact leave his sister without looking for her but he was bitten by some kind of animal which lurks around the woods at night.
"You guessed? Scott she could have been murdered or hurt."
At the entrance of Rosie's bedroom, Scott looked at his sister asleep in her dark green covers and she looked like she did not have any harm on her except maybe shock of the whole situation. After closing the door quietly and turning the light off ,which she had left on, he returned to the lecture his best friend was giving him.
"But she's not. She's in her bed asleep probably dreaming about how stupid you are because you got caught." He chuckled trying to get the image of the dead girl out of his head. Scott had decided to tell Stiles about what happened tomorrow when his sister is there too. "So what did your dad say?"
"Invasion of privacy this, invasion of privacy that. I sort of zoned out and began thinking of how the body could have been cut in half. Maybe with a saw or machete-"
"On that note, goodnight Stiles. Rosies fine now lets go to sleep before our first day tomorrow. This year will be different. Everythings fine." Again he was mainly assuring himself of this fact as he now had a prominent and bloody bite mark from a wolf or maybe a mountain lion.
But Scott was wrong. Everything is not fine and Rosie is certainly not fine. When Scott was standing in her doorway, he was too far to be able to see the 4 deep, circular marks on the back of her neck.
