"Rosie! Let me in please! Let me help you fix your wound." Melissa stood outside her daughters room after waiting her son out just so she was able to avoid the conversation with him. She had waited until the earlier hours of the next morning after hearing Scott tell her that Rosie was okay through the door which she shut in his face.
Though her mom was calling her, Rosie didn't wake from her slumber and didn't even think to lock her door before she went to sleep, something she would soon regret.
Barging in, Melissa walked in and immediately went to the side of her daughters bed, the side which she was sprawled on. Worried that she wasn't just sleeping, she placed her equipment on the bed as she then lifted up the bottom of her shirt, looking at the wound. Though she never found it.
She stepped back, not being able to comprehend what she was seeing, or not seeing. Melissa pondered back to one of the most heartbreaking moments of her life; seeing her daughter get shot. But she saw it, it happened, but where was the wound?
From all her years of being in the realm of medical work, she had never seen something heal so fast. The feeling of confusion was suffocating and as Melissa tried to conjure up a answer, Rosie began to wake up.
"Mom? What are you doing?" Rosie slowly propped herself up on her bed, eyes adjusting to her mom's look of fear. "Mom whats wrong?"
Saying nothing, Melissa just had tears of fear in her eyes as she continued to stare at the bare stomach of someone who was shot less than 24 hours ago. Looking at her mother, Rosie followed her eyes to her stomach and immediately pulled her top down all the way as she jumped out of bed.
"Mom, I'm okay. Its not a bad thing. I swear." Each step she took closer to her mother, Melissa took one back, until she hit the wall behind her.
"You too?" She questioned her daughter but didn't wait for the answer as she ran to the contents of her room, a place she could hide from the questions which were unanswered.
"Mom, wait!" Running after her, Rosie had the door slammed in her face as she hit her arms on it, trying to stop her from running away from her. Leaning her head against the door, Rosie sighed, unimpressed at herself.
"She saw didn't she?" Behind her, Scott had been woken up by her families shouts and woke up in time to see the door to their moms room slam. He moved to stand beside her, taking the same defeated stance. "Mom, we are gonna have to talk about this eventually. Okay, we love you."
The twins waited a moment, as if expecting her to open the door immediately, but she never did and they were left disappointed in themselves as they went to go get ready for the day.

As Scott got himself out of the shower, he looked in the mirror, focusing on his teeth, the ones which grew when he shifted. While looking at them intently, he heard a familiar hiss from behind him, as well as a small choke from his mother. He ran into his room from his bathroom and found the Kanima holding his mother by the neck with its tail.
Her legs were moving around under her as she was hoisted off the ground, unable to breathe. Scott stood there scared until another familiar sound came from the opposite side of the room; his sister. She was paralyzed on the floor with a cloth in her mouth to stop her screaming.
"As you can see, Scott, theres been some interesting developments lately." Sitting in Scotts chair, like a tyrant, Gerard played the upper hand, taking no notice to the harm he had caused. "I think we should catch up."
