"How- How do you know?" Looking at Stiles, she felt ashamed at the way she had treated him because she saw the way he looked and he didn't look the same. She finally saw his dark circles under his eyes due to the lack of sleep and the more define bone structure in his face, thanks to his loss of appetite.
But she had to remember what he had done. He hurt her and she shouldn't forgive him, she knows that. She also knows that hes sorry, both of them are. You could see it in the way they looked at her.
"The bestiary." Stiles walked over to Scott and helped him up, although he was no longer in pain. "Me and Scott found it."
Turning to her brother, she watched him smile at his best friend at the fact he included him in the investigation even when he wasn't there to find it. She also watched him put his hands up in defense and shake his head to give credit to his best friend.
"It was all him. Stiles found it for you." He even disclosed the fact that he too had spent many hours in search of the answer but instead shifted the focus onto Stiles. "He spent hours on it. Spent the last three days translating it and finding what you are. He didn't even focus on finding more about the Kanima."
"You did that?"
Subtly, he nodded his head and pursed his lips awkwardly as he accepted his accomplishment in front of the two. A moment passed and Rosie was thinking what to say next to the poor boy who looked as worse as he did when he lost his mum.
Instead of saying something, she walked over and hugged him. It took a moment before Stiles could realize that this was not a dream and he wrapped his arms around her, knowing it was real. Scott watched the two and smiled at his best friend and sister, thinking things would go back to normal.
"Thank you." She whispered in his ear but was loud enough so both of the boys heard. Her head was facing the stairs as she watched her mother walk down the stairs, disturbed by the loud noises which she must have heard from below.
"Whats going on?" Melissa watched her daughter unwrap her arms around Stiles and was concerned for what had happened. "Rosie, your home. You said you weren't coming back for a while, you were staying at Lydias?"
"Yeah, I was gonna spend the night here tonight."
"But whats going on here?" Luckily Scott had pushed the bloody gauzes behind the island in the kitchen so she was unable to see it, but was still confused as to why her daughter was hugging Stiles after the state she was in because of him the other night.
"Nothing-" Stiles began as he tried to brush off the embrace he just shared with Rosie in case she didn't want to admit it to her mother but Rosie interrupted him.
"I forgive them mom." Both boys looked at each other, shocked at to what Rosie had just said and how they didn't even have to repeatedly apologize today. "Now, go back to sleep. Sorry we woke you."
Before she walked up the stairs, Mellisa mulled her stare over the boys, almost sneering at them suspiciously. Then she left and walked back into her room so she could sleep some more, leaving the boys still surprised.
"You forgive us?" Her brother spoke first and for the both of them. She still stood staring at the stairs, in front of them until she slowly turned around and faced them.
"I guess so." Rosie let a small smile creep on her face as she looked at her best friends and help up one finger. "On one condition."
"Anything. What is it?" Stiles interrogated as he looked between the two McCalls, wondering what the condition could be.
"Well, its more than one." Her smile faded and she looked more serious now as she began to lay out her regulations. "You tell me everything, both of you. Even the boys locker room talk, you tell me everything. Scott, you do the dishes even when its my night to do them."
"Fine." The werewolf rolled his eyes as he walked up to Rosie with his hand out, ready for her to shake the agreement. She sneered at the hand and pulled him roughly into a hug, resulting in the two of them laughing. Like nothing changed between them.
Smiling, Stiles watched Scott have his turn at the forgiveness hug given by Rosie and watched them grateful that he had them in his life. He watched them break apart, smiling at each other, almost teary eyed.
"Stiles, can you tell me what you found please? About me."
"Yeah, hold on." His hand reached into his jean pocket to pull out piece of paper but as he did so, another fell out onto the floor. Rosie kindly went to pick it up and hand it to him but he instantly snatched it from her hand. "Just homework I need to hand in this week. Don't wanna lose it."
"So what did you find out?" Scott asked to cover up his best friend fault and defensive reaction to her picking up the piece of paper which she saw had two sides of writing on it.
"Basically you're like an angel. An angel without wings of course." Stiles read from the scrunched up piece of paper and spoke with passion. "You can heal yourself and others. When healing others, a healer has to intend to heal and not be forced into it. A healer can also eradicate pain from oneself or others."
Looking at her, Stiles couldn't identify her feelings. He couldn't tell if she was fascinated, scared or amazed at what she could do.
"You can help people, Rosie." Scott stated out loud, proud that his sister finally knows and is able to feel worth something now that she does. Responding to this, she smiled at him with glossy eyes. "As much as I want to catch up with you and find out where you've been, I need to clean this blood off me in the shower. But I will catch up with you later, okay?"
"Okay."
Her brother raced up the stairs with his bloody shirt sticking to his stomach, leaving Rosie and Stiles alone for the first time in a while. Rosie took it upon herself to pick up the gauzes on the floor and clean up the area in the kitchen.
"I can clean that." He offered as he spoke lightly, smiling at her awkwardly as he was uncomfortable in this situation.
"No its fine."
Neither knew what to say or do so Rosie went back to cleaning the kitchen floor, gathering the blood up and making it look like nothing had happened here. Whereas Stiles had enough of waiting and stood up behind her in the kitchen.
"I really did mean it."
Instantly, she knew what he was talking about. Rosie didn't think that she would be having this conversation so soon but felt it had to be done, otherwise it would get messy.
"Stiles-"
"No, you deserved to know. I'm in love with you Rosie. I am. I just needed you to know." Turning she saw his desperate and solemn face, almost breaking at the sight of it. She took a deep breathe and shook her head subtly.
"Im sorry."
"No, I'm the sorry one. I hurt you-"
"Now I'm the one doing the hurting." Once again, Rosie spoke over him so she didn't make this any worse than it already was for her.
"I don't get it." Confused, Stiles didn't know where she was going with this and hoped it didn't go how he had nightmares over when he imagined this conversation.
"Its over, Stiles."
