Finally she opened her eyes. The back of her neck started stinging as she sat up to look at her surroundings. To her right she saw Scott asleep on a chair and that's when she realized she wasn't at home. She was at the hospital. Leaning up on her elbows she now began stretching out on the bed, waking Scott in the process.
"Does it hurt?"
"Does what hurt?" Rosie asked confused as to what had caused her to be sitting in a hospital bed.
"Your head. You were sort of hit by a car, a car driven by a stupid driver. Don't worry mom gave them some words."
"Oh god." Embarrassed at what words could have come out of her mothers mouth , Rosie then questioned Scott rhetorically. "And why is it always me?"
"Been asking the same question for years. Maybe your just not as strong as me." He said as he got up and walked beside her and grabbed her hand to which she slapped him away.
"Id like to see you get hit by a car then."
"Actually, I did, by my girlfriends' father." Smiling smugly as he replied. "Anyway, let me see your head, maybe some brain is oozing out."
Rosie leant her forward down as she heard Scott mutter confusion under his breath as he examined her head. His hands even went on to the back of her head, separating hairs as he took a deeper search.
"Hey what are you doing?"
"Your head. It was cut open. You- you were bleeding." Grabbing the pillow behind her, he showed his sister a blood stain making Rosie furrow her eyebrows as she herself went to touch the back of her head.
"Maybe they just stitched it when you were asleep. Your snoring was too loud for them to wake you probably." She joked but Scott didn't mirror her smile as he was thoroughly confused as to why his sister had healed without any medical help.
"Scott McCall for todays antics you will be doing the grocery shopping, and no objections." Their mother stood in the doorway. "And you missy, don't run away like that just because you were bored. Okay?"
Melissa walked to meet her daughter and immediately engulfed her in a hug. Scott took a step back from the two to give them some space.
"Uh what are you doing?" His mother asked and he began stuttering something. "Get in here. Just like when you two were little."
After a moment, they broke away and Melissa looked at her children with glazed eyes. She took another look at Rosie and then rummaged in her scrubs pocket until she pulled out Rosies phone.
"This has been going off like mad. Ill go and get your stuff and discharge papers and then we can go." Once she handed Rosie her phone, it vibrated once more but Melissa turned to speak to Scott. "Right home now. Me and Rosie will be home in an hour, but you can make her some food. Better get a start on it."
The twins said goodbye and Scott departed the hospital, leaving Rosie alone in her room as her mother went to get her things. Her phone was bright when she decided to look at it and she had received many messages; most of them from Stiles. They were:
Hey did you get home okay?-5:29pm
Have you heard from Scott?-5:47pm
Bet those pills made you forget everything huh?-6:12pm
Ignore that of course they did-6:13pm
On the police radio it said about another animal attack at the school, were you there?-6:36pm
