Not What I had in mind

*Woof* *Woof* *Yip*

'I don't even know where to start' you sighed still pinching the bridge of your nose.

When you rounded the mall fountain you had expected to see Luffy and Law sat with a bunch of bags bored out of their minds. On the contrary, you were greeted with half the bags and twice the company. What bothered you most, however, was the seriousness on Law's face and the completely undeterred grin on Luffy's. Kid's snickering could easily be heard over the gushing of the water, but it wasn't like he was trying to hide it.

"Please tell me they aren't stolen" you breathed

Kid was now keeling over with laughter.

"They aren't" Law responded calmly

"And were they obtained through the legal procedure?" you interrogated.

"Of sorts" law continued.

'Well that's reassuring' you rolled your eyes sarcastically 'how was this even allowed?'

The bigger dog, a Samoyed if you remembered correctly, seemed to have taken quite the liking to Law. In addition to that, it also seemed to have been previously trained as it was very well behaved in the current moment, sat down tail wagging furiously. However, the smaller of the two, a little Pomeranian, was clearly struggling in the new environment, though still curious. Hiding behind Luffy it's new source of comfort, he'd occasionally pop out and assess you before scurrying back to hide. Looking down at the two balls of fluff, it was obvious that they were malnourished and in dire need of a bath.

"Don't worry Flowers! We took them out under your name because they wouldn't accept ours!" Luffy grinned

"WHAT!?!" You blurted out.

"They were gonna kill Chopper and Bepo" Luffy thrust the smaller pup in your face, forcing you to face its big puppy dog eyes "we couldn't let them do that"

"Chopper and Bepo? You've already named them!?" you faced palmed

"What kind of names are those!?" Kid wasn't even laughing anymore, now he was just trying to remember how to breathe.

'Is he going to be alright?'

"OI KID! DON'T MAKE FUN OF MY CHOPPER!" Luffy snapped.

"You're in no position to talk about wired names Eustass-ya" Law combed his hands through the fluffy dog's fur.

'Neither are you' you sweat-dropped

"Do you two even realise that you're bringing these dogs to a military-"

"We'll take good care of them Flowers! You won't even know they're there!" Luffy pleaded

*Yip* *Yip* *Yip*

Chopper begged

*Woof* *Woof*

Bepo added

"Don't look at me, I'm not going to beg" Law deadpanned.

*Sigh*

"Fiiiiiiiiinnneee..." you caved.

"ALRIGHT!!!" Luffy picked you up and spun you around

'Scientifically speaking, It's impossible to say no to puppys'

"But because they're taken out under my name they stay with me, that's the rule!" You stroked the two dogs who were already warming up to you.

Law's eyes suddenly became colder than usual and Luffy stopped spinning you around instantly, a solemn look etched into his features.

'Why are they looking at me like that?! They're technically my dogs!'

"Relax you'll get to play with them all day, they just stay with me at night" you reassured. "I doubt they'll give you the means to look after them at the base, so it's safer for them to stay with me"

"Ok/Fine" Law grumbled and Luffy pouted but they both returned to their usual selves.

With a sigh, you turned to Kid who was still trying his very best to calm down.

"Did you want a pet too? It may help you cope with the stress of the job" you offered, no longer caring about consequences.

"There's already enough mongrels around here" he gestured to Law and Luffy who was thankfully too busy with the dogs to notice.

"Alright then, we're heading back. It's about time you guys see why you're here" you smiled.

Dropping bags off to their respected areas and making Bepo and Chopper look more presentable took a lot longer than you'd anticipated, but it seemed that Law and Luffy were more than willing to put in the extra effort. The two dogs were practically glowing. Now you were all stood outside an abandoned hanger a little ways off the main HQ. Made from battered and rusty metal to any passerby, the building looked like it was one gentle breeze away from collapsing on itself. Homely.

"Rose-ya? What are we doing here?" Law inspected the building with judgemental eyes only encouraging your own smile.

"Before we get into that, it's very important that you understand your position right now" you turned round to face them all. "Everything that you're about to see is classified as B.T.S, Beyond Top Secret. If you go inside and decide you want to back out, you'll get shot"

All three of them tensed and the dogs seemed to recline from the new tension in the air.

"So you have a choice, you can turn around and take everything you've got along with compensation to support you in creating a new life but you'll never be able to join SKDD again" you eyed them all to see whether they understood before continuing "Or, you can trust me and help me win this war. We can forge a new era with our own hands... but you have to make that decision now"
