Where we begin

I woke up one night and thought... why not? And thus, a story was born! This is partly the reason why I've been so tired lately 😅

These first few chapters are a test run. I will only continue to write this story if it gets good feedback 🙂

Many years ago the world was at peace, but a small meteorite landed in the oceans and started affecting the creatures of the sea. They became larger in size; thicker and darker in skin; stronger than any top scientists could ever anticipate, we called them sea kings. They attacked major cities and towns and killed millions.

It was very easy to assume that this was the end of mankind; that was until one man, named Gold D Rodger, managed to kill a sea king. He inspired an entire generation of youth to fight back and established an era where young adults trained themselves to kill sea kings. Some called him a devil for going against the laws of nature and others called him a murderer for inspiring young children to go on a suicide mission. He was publicly executed for his actions however he ended up becoming the founder of the Sea King Defence Department (SKDD). The place where young men and women are trained to kill sea kings.

The sound of footsteps echoed around the bleak empty corridors. Anyone would assume the place was abandoned, and that was definitely the idea. At each interval the long strip LED lights flickered giving the place a much more eerie vibe than it needed. If the sight didn't deter people the smell of mould definitely would.

"It's almost time little rose, are you ready?"

"Please don't call me that" You groaned.

"What? You don't like the name? I think it suits you perfectly?" He smiled.

"It's not the name that's the problem I just don't appreciate the person it's coming from Lieutenant General Donquixote"

"Fufufufufu~ Now I know you're doing that on purpose little rose, how many times do I need to remind you to call me Doffy" he grinned, his signature shades gleaming in the dim corridor.

"I'll consider calling you that when I'm dead sir, and even then, I'd wait a couple weeks" you smiled.

'I've been around this man for two weeks and I'm already about to lose my mind'

"Shall we go over the plan one more time Lieutenant?" You asked.

"We've recapped the plan a hundred times already" He frowned.

"We've only recapped it 2 times sir" you corrected in a slightly irritated tone. "And the only reason I did that was because you are prone to doing your own thing and somehow someone gets hurt"

"Fufufufu~ You're so much fun when you're mad" he chuckled as he made a sharp right down the dimly lit corridor.

'Why someone put this guy in charge of an elite army base, I'll never know?' You breathed, barely managed to keep up with the long-legged creature. You were almost jogging beside him.

"The plan is simple" He started "Today I, Leiutenant General Doflamingo Donquixote of the SKDD dressrosa division, am here to scout out pilots for the new defence system, designed by one of our pretty amazing and anonymous mechanical geniuses at the lab" He grinned tossing his bright pink feather boa around his neck.
