"Ah, little Rose~ how unusual for you to ca-"

"WHAT KIND OF GAME ARE YOU TRYING TO PULL HERE!?" you screamed down the phone surprising everyone within earshot.

The troublesome trio flinched at your sudden ferocity and watched in bewilderment as the hustle and bustle of the forge slowly died down as you huffed down your end of the phone. It was clear that everyone was concerned about your attitude but they were way too curious about the situation to try and stop you. One thing was for certain... things weren't gonna be pretty.

Doflamingo remained quiet on the other line but that was perfectly fine with you because you weren't done yet.

"Look! My job is to make sure that SKDD is fully equipped and ready to win this war! That's why I accepted this position! If your goal is different to mine then tell me now so I can save us all time and leave!"

".........(Y/n) (L/n)..."

He said your name. Doflamingo had said your full name. There was no hint of amusement or mockery in his tone, you couldn't even sense his typical grin. No, he was taking this very seriously, something you weren't used to.

"Do I need to remind you of your place?" He stated warningly

It was only for a moment but a moment was all he needed to install doubt in your mind. You were instantly reminded why he was a Lieutenant. To be in that position, you would've have to do and see pretty horrific stuff. Right now, you weren't in any position to make demands. Unfortunately your stubbornness was suicidal and decided to push your luck

"No" you breathed "But I need to know if you are on my side?"

A tense silence rested on your shoulders as you hesitantly waited for Doflamingo's reply.

"...We were always on the same side little rose" he finally answered

"Then please act like it" you concluded before hanging up the phone

You looked at the portable device in your hand contemplating your decision. It was around this point you noticed the lack of noise within your vicinity. Your head shot up to look at the predominantly male population around you, who were giving you the same blank stares.

"WHY ARE YOU GUYS GAWKING WHEN THERE'S STILL SONIC DISKS AND PROTON PHASERS THAT NEED TO BE MADE!" You yelled. "GET TO IT"

Almost everyone jumped out of their skin and fumbled around to try and get back to their positions. People began to shout orders and the sound of drills and saws returned to the hanger.

'I swear these guys are worse than gossiping housewives sometimes' you sighed as you shook your head.

"As for you three" you glanced over in the direction of Law, Kid, and Luffy.

"Let's go" you ordered before making your way towards the hanger doors.

"Why should we?" Law stated.

"What? Don't you guys want some breakfast? Or is it brunch now?" you pondered.

All three of them gave you owlish looks before Luffy's face broke into a huge grin.

"FOOD!" Luffy charged after you immediately.

Kid and Law seemed hesitant at first but when they realised they had nothing better to do they slowly trailed behind.

"Guys, the food isn't going anywhere" you assured as Luffy and Kid helped themselves to another helping of sausages and cabbage rolls.

Kid just gave you a dismissive grunt whilst Luffy tried his best to communicate but failed. You were currently seated in a fastfood joint in a busy mall. Most of the breakfast places were closed by the time you'd arrived so Luffy took it upon himself to let his nose lead to the best place. Thankfully it seemed to serve something for everybody.

"if tashe sho good" Luffy chewed.

'Honestly, I'm just proud that I understood that' you smiled whilst you took mental notes. 'So this is what the report meant about his monstrous appetite'

"Just ignore him Ro- (Y/n)-ya, he's completely useless in this state" Law sighed as he shoved his one single plate away.

"You can call me Rose if it's easier you know?" you laughed at his attempt to correct himself. "Aren't you hungry?"

Law had ordered some rice balls but had only managed to finish one. At this rate Luffy was going to eat them before he could.

"I'd much prefer answers than food" Law replied.

"Answers won't fill your belly" you smiled as you took a sip of your own drink.

Law didn't respond.

'Does he think I'm gonna use it against him? The documents did mention trust issues...'

"Think of it as an apology for not being able to officially welcome you to SKDD properly" you tried.

He eyed you suspiciously. From the corner of your eye you could see Luffy's hand inching closer to the plate.

'He's totally trying to steal his food' you mused.

Just as Luffy was about to snatch one a knife came down right in front of his hand making him yelp and retract immediately. Law glared at him from the side of his eye before he removed the knife from the table and started to eat again.

'He's literally eating just so Luffy can't have it'

"I guess you have been lacking quiet a lot of that since you arrived... Alright... What would you like to know? Shoot" you smiled.

You sat up straight and fixed your gaze on Law, to show him that he had your undivided attention. He was slightly taken aback at your compliance to his demands, but made sure not to reveal this on his face.

"I want to know everything "

"I had a feeling you were gonna say that" you laughed as you took a sip of your drink "but It's probably the best way to start"

Law's calculating state didn't didn't shift at all. The dark bags under his eyes was much more visible in the warm light. Kid seemed to catch wind of the importance of this competition and brought his devouring to a quick close.

"We're losing the war"
