The majority of the drive was mostly Luffy 'oohing' and 'aahing' at all the intriguing robotic parts that you were passing by, steadily getting closer to the giant mech suits. Kid seemed to be going for the silent appreciation whereas Law chose to use this short time to catch up on some 'Zzz's'. Although you were cruising at a steady pace, you couldn't help but feel sorry for Usopp who was trying his very best to imitate air. His grip on the steering wheel caused his knuckles to go white, you assumed from fear he wake the tan stranger behind him or aggravate the red-haired beast beside him.
"How did everyone take the news Usopp!?" you inquired trying to take his mind off the current situation
"Don't pretend to care that it matters" Ussop huffed. "You've already made up your mind"
"True..." you smiled. "But the less resistance the better"
The statement wasn't harsh, it was just factual. When working with someone like yourself, a compromise could only take you so far, as you'd often wander off and do your own thing anyway. Understanding this meant that no matter what anyone said, there would be no changing your mind on the decision made, even if it wasn't the most popular opinion, there was no room for negotiation.
"I wouldn't worry about it too much (Y/n)" Usopp assured you, his sights still focused on where he was going "Your decisions have never led us astray before, so I trust you, and I'm sure the others feel the same"
You turned to the window, to hide your reddened face. Comments like that always caught you off guard. After another minute or so, Usopp expertly swivelled the shuttle around and reversed into an open-faced garage near the feet of one of the giant mech suits. He flipped a few switches on his dashboard to shut down the vehicle and open the doors on all sides.
"We're here guys!" you announced as you stepped out of the shuttle to stretch your legs.
"WHOO HOO!" Luffy jumped off the roof and ran straight toward the robot completely mesmerised.
His eyes twinkled as he bounded towards its feet screaming about how cool it was. Kid was hot on his heels, quick to inspect the finer details of your creation. He was followed by Law, who was still trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes. Both you and Usopp sweatdropped at the sight of the three renegades running towards the giant mech suits like children on Christmas.
"I trust you (Y/n)... but I'm still entitled to my own opinions," Usopp remarked, staring at the three individuals with a doubtful look. "Was there no one else?"
"oh shut up" you laughed and playfully elbowed him in the side.
Luffy, who'd made it to the machine first, jumped toward the base of the foot eager to climb and admire the view it had to offer. Unfortunately, that was a big NO-NO.
"LUFFY WAIT!" you called.
It was too late. Mid-jump Luffy collided with a large metal arm which swung round and pinned him back down to the ground. By the time Luffy had regained his senses, he was already face to face with the end of a laser gun barrel. Luffy stared in awe as the other two skidded to a stop.
"You sure have a lot of guts you little punk!" The large man frowned. "Any last words!"
The barrel of the gun started to heat as energy pooled inside, ready to be fired. And soon Luffy's awe turned to screams as he violently squirmed and wriggled to get out of the way.
"FRANKY STOP!" You rushed over to him "HE'S WITH ME!"
The others watched as the man paused and glanced in your direction. His whole demeanour changed. With Luffy still firmly tangled in his grasp, he beamed up at you, His bright blue hair parted to one side, was the only other flamboyant thing to distract from his lack of pants.
"(Y/n)! SUPER timing!" He grinned "I had a few suggestions for Sunny's cooling system and its configuration"
'Could you explain that while not strangling its potential pilot' You pleaded.
"We'll talk about that later, let go of our guest and introduce yourself" You pointed to Luffy who was still scrambling about in his grasp.
"Guest?...Oh right! Sorry about that pal!" He laughed as the laser gun was safely sealed behind a metallic hand, releasing Luffy and then striking a pose "The name's FRANKY!!! I'm a SUUUPPPEEER cyborg who became (Y/n)'s main mechanic to help build and design these giant fighting machines"
"Ah! You're Franky, Flower's giant robot friend, who helps cyborgs design fighting mechanics" Luffy repeated with complete confidence.
'How did he get it so wrong?' You shook your head
"...Sure" Franky gave him a thumbs up.
"HE WASN'T EVEN CLOSE!!!" Usopp yelled.
"Do you have any colleagues that aren't trying to kill Luffy?" Law asked.
You rolled your eyes at him.
"HEY DON'T TOUCH SUNNY!" Franky yelled at Kid - who blatantly ignored him - and proceeded to strike the giant metal robot.
"Is this whole thing made of Adam's ore?" Kid speculated
"... You know your stuff... Impressive!" Franky smirked completely bypassing his previous anger. "Adam's ore is one of the most irregular and toughest metals in the world. It's stayed intact even after being exposed to a hydrogen bomb and all three of these bad boys are made from it"
"All three!?" Kid gawked, as he took a step back trying to fathom the calculations "How did you get so much?"
"I know some people" Franky grinned "And thanks to them Sunny is going to destroy those sea king bastards for good"
"Sunny?" Law quirked a brow
"Sunny!" you smiled "Right now, you are basking in the presence of our best chances of winning against those monsters. Meet Thousand Sunny, Polar Tang and Victoria Punk!"
"Don't get attached to those names" Usopp rubbed his nose "Those names are still up for debate"
"If I designed the frickin' things I get to name them" You crossed your arms
"Who calls a weapon of mass destruction 'Sunny'?" Usopp argued
"I do!" you snapped. "Sunny is going to bring a thousand sunny da-!"
*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*
Slightly irritated at being interrupted you pulled out your phone to see a holographic ghost.
"What is it Brook?" you huffed
"Yohohoho! Everyone's here (Y/n)-san!" he informed
On cue, three transport shuttles screeched to a halt next to Franky and Luffy. Law gave you a look, reminding you that this was the third time Luffy was almost killed by one of your 'friends'. You rolled your eyes.
As you were doing so, a number of people leapt out from the - previously mentioned - vehicles and within seconds you were surrounded by people and being swamped with questions.
'I don't have the energy for this' you concluded with a sigh
