Jason's POV

The sky turned dark by the time I pulled up to the front door of my house.
I opted to drive myself home today, needing to be alone for a while before I get swarmed by busy people asking if I need anything. Especially after the first day I just had, I need time to process shit.

I looked out of the window playing the events that happened again in my head for the 100th time.
As I stared out of the window, I noticed a gust of wind sweep a small leaf, dragging it along the pebbled ground. The winds momentum increased launching the leaf in the air before spinning it around causing the leaf to break apart.
The wind then began to subside causing the torn leaf to fall to the ground.
It oddly seemed like the perfect metaphor for my life right now.

For a moment I watched the broken leaf lie on the rocky floor. Suddenly, I saw one of my drivers scurry along the driveway towards me from the corner of my eye.
He was bent over, holding the ends of his coat tightly as the heavy winds returned.
I looked back down at the leaf which had now been broken down into little pieces and was being flung in several different directions.

"Mr Quill!" He called greeting me as he gets closer to the car.
I roll my eyes to myself before opening the car door and stepping out.

"Good evening Mr Quill. Had a good day today?"

"Yes, it was good", I lied, handing him the keys to the car so he can go and park it.

"Where is your other driver and security?" He said looking concerned.

"I wanted to drive home today. They're in the other car and should arrive soon- Ahh look there they are", just as I spoke the second car pulled into the driveway.

My head security Ron made eye contact with me ensuring that I was alright, to which I nodded to him.
I turned my head back to admire the architecture of the guest house. I then inhaled a deep breath, taking in the autumnal air, adjusted my suit and made my way along the driveway and to my front door.

Before I had made it up the stairs to my doorstep my door flung open and Babi stood there with the door open in her usual uniform; a black dress with a white apron tied around her waist. Babi was a round mature woman from Samoa, she has long dark hair which she tightly braided into a single plait.
Babi was strict, highly professional but kind. She gave of a maternal - NO- it was more of a teacher vibe. Which was probably the reason my father agreed to hire her, for her to feed him back information on how I was running things. Which heavily backfired on him because I am in charge of this house and pay her wages, so her loyalties are to me.

"Welcome home Mr Quill", she said stepping back allowing me room to enter.

"The food smells good Babi. Did you make it or did my father's chef?", I said walking straight past her and into the downstairs office to lay my briefcase on the desk and to fiddled with some documents.

"I did Mr Quill", she said shutting the door and quickly returned to my side.

I nodded. I was happy either way. Babi was a great cook and always added her own Samoan infused spin to dishes.

"Do you need anything?" She said following me as I moved around the house. She had to jog a little to do so due to the pace in which I was walking.

"No", I responded.

I then walked into the kitchen and brought out a glass. I then opened a cupboard, my eyes searching along the rows. I furrowed my eyebrows when I couldn't find what I was looking for.

" Bourbon?"

"Top left" she said pointing. I followed her hand to find half a bottle of brown Bourbon sitting in the top left corner of the cabinet. Babi always had a way of seeing things.
