Krissy's POV

It was pitch day and everyone's nerves were on 10.
Clinging tightly to my purple fur coat, I scurried across the zebra crossing towards the buildings entrance, hiding from the morning's chill.

Suddenly, as I walked, I felt several consecutive vibrations go off in my bag from my phone.
I sighed. My phone had been blowing up since the very moment I woke up this morning, with anxious messages from my group members reminding each other of the new changes to our pitch.
So, like many times today, I frantically bit off my gloves and dug into my bag in search of my phone, to catch up on the new intel.

"Shit", I said seeing 60 unread messages show up on WhatsApp. I quickly skimmed though them making sure to take quick glances at approaching cars before I crossed the last road that would bring me to the glass doors of Quill corporatisation.

Seeing nothing that needed my urgent response, I plopped my phone back into my bag and refocused on my surroundings.

Now at the entrance I yanked open the double doors and entered into the building.
Like I did every other day this week, I took a split second to admire the lobby's aesthetic, as well as inhaled the comforting smell of coffee and the chatter of businesspeople moving up and down the building. The environment as a whole felt reminiscent of those movies where a young girl moves to a big city to follow her dreams.
I smiled a small smile to myself finding a few links with myself and those movies.

Suddenly conscious of the time I broke away from my thoughts, straightened my coat and took large strides towards the lift as I did not want to be seen running.

Despite my movements, I reached the lift just as the doors closed taking its passengers up the many levels of the building.

"Shit", I whispered, as I began frantically pressing the button hoping that it will call another lift down faster.

I sighed, tapping my right foot against the floor as I impatiently weighted for another lift to arrive. I took this time to calm my nerves and check my image in the refection of the doors. My mum prepared my outfit yesterday, so I was wearing a chocolate coloured shirt ( I buttoned two more rows up so it showed enough skin to please my mum but was also work appropriate), she paired it with a lighter brown faux leather trousers. I had my braids pulled back into a tight high ponytail. The ponytail was a little too tight, I considered taking it down but I could hear the my mum's voice faintly in my ear saying 'beauty is pain', so I decided to leave. Plus it was giving me a mini face lift, which was always a plus.

The lift doors finally opened and myself, along with the other people who had accumulated behind me entered

The lift doors finally opened and myself, along with the other people who had accumulated behind me entered. It was a longer ride than usual, as the meetings were held in a different room than we were normally in instead, the pitch room was being held on one of the company's top floors, teasing Jason's presence.

Once I reached the correct floor, I was immediately met with interns from K&G.

Everyone was in their group of six, standing around with their que cards, quietly practicing their pitch. I could smell the nervousness radiating from them, mingled with various perfumes, colognes, cigarettes, coffee and strong shampoos.
I saying my pleasantries, I moved through the groups, looking for either mine or Theo.
