It felt good to be home.
Everything was so familiar, no press, or paparazzi. Nice, peaceful, quiet home.
I rushed up to the bathroom to take a shower, and my parents got ready to leave for work. Coach was going to be picking me up so we could immediately start training, just in case I make the Olympic team. Yes, I actually could make the Olympic team. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. The Olympics. A dream come true.

“Fabulous performances Saturday.” Coach complimented, as I skated onto the ice for my lesson. “So let’s start a great practice with your short program.”
“Okay.” I answered, afraid to whine to coach.
She started my music, and I was off.
I skated the same usual program, landing each jump flawlessly, and my footwork full of speed. My spins were a little short, but other than that they had perfect position.
“As usual, you can nail that short program.” Coach remarked, “So let’s see that long program.”
Again, a little too afraid to whine to coach, she is scary sometimes. I skated my long program like on Saturday, flawless and strong.
Once finished I skated over to coach.
“You have just been nailing those triple axels lately.”
“Well when you land it once, you kind of get the hang of it.” I stated, sounding bored.
“Let’s take a break from your programs. I want to teach you a-“Coach got cut off due to her phone ringing. She dug it out of her pocket and looked at the number, almost confused and surprised. “I got to take this,” she finally managed after staring at her phone for minutes.
She went back into the locker room, so I decided to stroke around the rink and do some fun stuff.
Minutes later she came back, right as I was in my triple Lutz triple toe combination.
“Fabulous job my Olympian.” She remarked, smiling wider than ever.
“I’m technically not an Olympian, USFS-“ I got cut off.
“-just confirmed, you are a member of the Olympic team.” Coach finished.
My jaw dropped, my eyes widened.
