“Ow,” I murmured stubbing my toe on the corner of our kitchen pantry, as I put the peanut butter away. Ever since I landed my triple axel I couldn’t stop dancing around. I felt like titanium. I shook of the pain from my toe, and spun into a pirouette. “Sorry mom,” I apologized, accidentally bumping into her.

“It’s okay. Anyway I’m leaving for work, don’t forget your lunch and your science project,” mom said.

“Oh, that’s right my science project. How am I supposed to walk half a mile to the bus stop carrying a huge poster?!” I exclaimed a little annoyed.

“I’m sure you’ll manage.” My mom said slipping on her high heels. “I love you,” she said kissing my forehead.

“Love you too,” I replied, zipping up my lunch bag.

“Be good.” My mom said opening the door.

“Do I still have to be reminded that?”

                “Just in case, now bye.”

                “Bye mom.”

I trudged to the bus stop in the humidity. I had lost my “pizzazz” from that morning. Now I just felt dead inside. I didn’t want to go to school; I had such an amazing weekend. Gold medals, and triple axels; my dream weekend. But now…I’m back to school. Ugh.

When the bell rang I was so thankful to get to leave school. I wanted to get to the rink. Coach cancelled my lesson for yesterday, because of the TV interview, so today I was going to have my lesson.

I stepped out into the parking lot to see moms Maxima, instead of Nana’s Prius. I was kind of excited that my mother was finally going to take me to my lesson, but when I stepped into the car, I swore something was wrong.

How did I know? It was simple. First of all, mom was blowing her nose like a volcano, wiping away a sea of tears. Second, she was on the phone with Rosenberg Funeral Home.

Once my mother hung up I immediately spoke, “Mother? What’s wrong?” My hands started to tremble, and my legs were covered in goose bumps.

“Nana died today.” She replied with a small soft voice.

This chapter brought me tons of tears. I'm so sorry for killing her, but i just had to. And i cant beleive i just did.
