So far I liked my new school. I missed Prim, we still Skyped, but I still miss her. I made a few new friends, Kelsey, and Marina. They both were interested in my skating, but they didn’t feel like friends. The best part about being in a private school is that I got a lot more training in. School was shorter, and I could miss as many days as I want. So, since we leave for Nationals tomorrow, I haven’t gone to school for a week. Coach literally rented the training rink for half the day, and Rowan and her coach got it the other half. I have also had a few more TV interviews lately, a few paparazzi following me. Let’s just say I have been crazy busy lately.
“Hey honey. I was thinking, tonight we go visit Nana,” my mother said softly, as she walked into my room, “You know since well we are leaving tomorrow?”
“Okay.” I guess. My eyes started to get a little teary. I had tried to ignore the fact Nana was dead, for the past few weeks so I could focus on my training. But now since my mother brings it up, I’m starting to get emotional again.
Nana’s grave was still covered with silk plants. It was almost like a rainbow of light in the foggy grey night sky. I knelt down and ran my fingers across her engraved name. Then I planted a small kiss on my hand, and placed it on the small engraved heart. “I love you Nana.” I whispered, then wiped away a tear.

I hate airplanes.
The flight attendant was so annoying. She kept flirting with the guy sitting in front of us. It was just weird. The even worse thing, I finished my book less than halfway through the flight, so I had nothing to do but stare out the window the rest of the way.
Nationals were held in Colorado this year, at Pepsi Center (where the Colorado Avalanche plays). I have lived in the suburbs my whole life, so I wasn’t exactly used to the high elevation Colorado offered. My head was spinning at first but after the hour drive to our hotel, I got used to it.
We’re meeting Rowan’s family at a small family run Italian place, just outside of Denver. As usual we were late to the restaurant. We are always late to everything, but not that late usually like five minutes late.
“Hey,” I said to Rowan.
“Hi Carmenn!” She leaned in and hugged me. I hugged her back. “I can’t believe we’re here, at Nationals. Together.”
I couldn’t believe it either.
