Aisha's POV:
"Hi!!" I cheered on a video call with Darshan. "Hi, Aqua!!" He smiled. "It's midnight. I didn't know when to call you," I grinned. "You looked (refer image) adorable in that picture you sent me. You know, with the girls," he praised. I blushed. "Awww, my Ishu's blushing," he awwed and I laughed. "What did you do today? And yesterday?" He asked. "Yesterday, we reached. Ate. Walked in the beach. Clicked a ton of pictures. Ate. Slept. Went out on a long drive. Met my cousin, Summer. She is so cool. I meet her every year. She gave me that outfit. Went back home. Slept. Woke up. Got dressed. Went to Santa Monica. Came back around 8 hours later. Ate. Waited. Waited. Called you. Now, I am talking to you," I said, counting on my fingers. "I miss you. A lot," He said. I smiled. "Well, how are the others?" I asked. "Great. Jyugal is all smiley, Sid and H are not," he giggled. "Yeah, wait. Are they around?" I asked, giggling. "Sid is. Hardil will be here in a while," he informed. "Yo, Tara," I whispered and Tara looked at me. "Here. Sid," I said, giving her the phone and laying down, closing my eyes. She went out to talk to Sid and I tried to fall asleep.
"Yeh le," Alisha said, giving me my phone. "Hi, H, Sid, J," I smiled, sleepily. "Hi," they said, mimicking my voice. I smiled and cut the call, actually sleeping now.
Christmas Day...
"Good Morning," Niu's mom greeted as I walked out the bathroom door after changing into PJs.
I hugged her and she smiled. "Merry Christmas," I wished to everyone and everyone smiled. "Where are the others?" Mom asked. "Alisha is getting dressed, Niu is in the bath, Tara is waiting," I said, walking to the dining table for a glass of water. "I'm here," Alisha said while I handed her the jug. I sat down on the floor, legs flat, wide apart beside my pile of gifts. "How'd you know that it was your pile?" Alisha's dad asked, amused. "Photo," I said, pointing to the gift tag on one of the gifts. He smiled. "Hi, peeps," I said waving to Niu and Tara, behind me. "Footsteps," I said to no one in particular. "You are very observant," Tara's dad praised. I grinned and said, "Watching crime shows paid off," shrugging. Everyone laughed. "What?" I droned. "Nothing. Dekh, dekh," Tara said, patting my head. We sat down to open our gifts. I got 3 new journals from my parents, a set of 5 bracelets from Tara, 1/4 of a BFF necklace from Niu, a set of fuzzy socks from Alisha and a miniature wooden boat from Summer that had my name on it. That boat... GOD, I loved it. I smiled to myself, covering my mouth to stop the tears from leaving my eyes. I was closer to Summer than anybody else. Even the gang. I had a very different relationship with her. I put the boat down and ran to my room to call Summer. "Really?" I asked, my eyes brimming with tears. "Yeah. Don't cry, sweetheart. I wanted you to have a boat of your own. WATER NEVER FORGETS," she replied. "I love you, Summer," I said, tears running down my cheeks. "I love you, too, Aisha," she smiled. "So, are you coming in summer?" She asked. "I don't know. I have an audition. If I get through, no. If I don't, yes," I informed. She nodded and blew me kisses, bidding goodbye.
I walked back to the living room. Everyone looked at me. "Summer," I replied. Dad almost touched the boat. "No. Stay away," I ordered. He playfully glared at me. "No. This boat is not supposed to be touched by anyone. Get it?" I said. Everyone nodded. "May I ask why?" Dad asked. "Summer gave me this. Water never forgets, Papa. This boat is my most prized possession. Please," I spoke. He nodded and kissed my head.
Christmas in LA was always fun. With Summer, even more... I loved her.
