Darshan's POV:
Aisha was asleep in the recliner with a photo on the side table. I went over and picked it up. One of our beach trips when we were seven. She was kissing my forehead.
FLASHBACK: 8 YEARS AGO (BEACH TRIP)
"Gabbu!! Jaldi kar, yaar! What are you doing?" Aisha called from my bedroom. "Ho gaya, pagal," I yelled back as I stepped out of the bathroom. "Chalein?" Ma asked as she looked through the door. "Yeh dekho na. Mere se zyada time isko tayar hone mein hota hai," Aisha laughed. "Ishu," I whined as she kissed me all over my face and pulled me out the door.
At the Beach...
I sat down in the sand as Aisha ran down to the sea. She looked behind and waved to me, asking me to join her. "Nahi, yaar. Tu jaa," I replied. "Please. Chal na," she pouted. I shook my head saying no again. She stomped her feet and ran into the sea. I started drawing in the sand. She sneaked up behind me and dumped an entire bucket of water on my head. "Yaar..." I chased her around the beach. "Sorry, Gabbu," she groaned as she stopped running and hugged me. "It's okay."
She kissed me all over my face again. "Tu yeh kyun karti hai?"
"Aise hi. Timepass."
We ran into the sea together this time and played around for 4 hours. Papa called as we were laughing and messing around about something. We ran over to him. "Khana khane chalein?" He asked as he hugged us. We nodded. "Tu kya khayegi? Ishu?" I asked Aisha. "Mujhe kya pata? Udhar jaake dekhte hai, Gabbu," she commented, giving me a look. I hugged her. My life. She kissed me all over my face again. I loved when she did that.
FLASHBACK ENDS
Tears ran down my cheeks as I looked at Aisha. My best friend was gone. She hated me. I'm not sure why. And I could do nothing but pretend I hated her back.
