3rd person POV
It had been a few days since Luke and Elizabeth's date in the garage. The two were now sleeping in Elizabeth's room. The past week had been perfect. No one expected anything bad to happen.
Elizabeth started moving around, in the midst of a nightmare. Caleb was there, in her head, taunting her. Her eyes snapped open, expecting Caleb to be gone, but there he stood. Right at the edge of the bed.
She tried to move, to scream, to do anything, but she couldn't. She was frozen. The only thing she could move was her eyes. She could see Luke fast asleep next to her and the menacing smirk on Caleb's face.
He moved closer to her, "Oh, Elizabeth. How I've missed you dearly." She felt helpless. "Don't worry. We'll be out of here soon." Caleb poofed away and Elizabeth could move again. A pulling sensation took over her, like when she had been dragged onto Caleb's stage. She reached out for Luke, grabbing his arm and finally waking him.
"Luke! Help!" The girl screamed to him. Panic filled him and he grabbed her, trying to keep her from being pulled away completely. She was being pulled closer and closer to the cloud of smoke and there was nothing anyone could do.
"What's happening?!" Luke said, fear lacing his voice.
"Caleb!" Elizabeth shouted back just as she was pulled into the smoke, disappearing from the room completely. Luke was freaking out. He felt like Alex when they first became ghosts. He had to get her back.
Luke poofed into the garage screaming for the boys, who poofed down from the loft.
"Caleb- He- Elizabeth-" Luke huffed out, tears starting to pour down his cheeks. Alex and Reggie shared a look, figuring out what had happened from Luke's mess of a sentence. They pull Luke into a hug.
Alex tries to comfort him while also being honest, "Look, man. There's nothing we can do right now. You need to sleep and I'm going to try and find Willie. You two go tell Julie." The boys nod and Alex poofs away.
Alex decides to walk around Hollywood Boulevard, where he first met Willie. After having no luck here, he finds himself at the museum that him and Willie screamed in. Alex steps through the glass, sitting at the bench the two moved together.
In this moment, Alex does something unexpected. He stands up, and he screams. The anguish in his voice is evident. Not only had his crush gone away, but his best friend was taken away. Alex had been through more than anyone knew.
His parents could barely look at him after finding out he was gay and the only people he had were his friends. Then he met Elizabeth and Willie. Both, whom he felt a special connection with. Elizabeth had accepted him for who he was and she wouldn't have him any other way. And Willie, who gave the boy butterflies and who's smile lit up his whole day.
Alex screamed again, his throat becoming dry. A clap echoed around the room.
"See, I told you it feels good." Alex's head whips around towards the sound of Willie's voice, seeing him standing there. Alex pulls Willie into a hug, both boys being relieved to see each other.
"Willie! I-I've been looking for you everywhere!" Alex tells him, the pair finally pulling away.
Willie smiles at him, "How are you back here? How did you not cross over?"
"It's a long story, but I need your help." Alex says, Willie giving him an expectant look while waiting for Alex to tell him what's going on, "Caleb took Elizabeth."
Back at home, Reggie and Luke are hovering over Julie's sleeping body, not knowing how to wake her up.
"I got this." Reggie whispered into Luke's ear. He began to poke the girls arm repeatedly. Julie shot up, her eyes widening at the two boys in her room.
"Boundaries! Get out!" She yelled at them. The two boys shared a look, confusing Julie.
Luke looked back at her with glassy eyes, "Caleb.. He took Elizabeth." Julie's face fell, tears falling from her eyes. A dark cloud fell over their heads, all three of them breaking down and clinging to each other.
The mood was different at the Hollywood Ghost Club. Elizabeth was in a dark room, similar to the one she had been in when she died. The only thing indicating that she wasn't back in there was the music blaring and a crack of light below a door.
Elizabeth sat curled against a wall. She had tried countless times to poof out, each time failing. She didn't have the energy to scream or cry, she just simply felt helpless. Her head was in her hands and she imagined herself back in Luke's arms, where she felt safe. But she wasn't there and she didn't know if would ever again.
The door creaked open and Elizabeth shielded herself from the light.
"Elizabeth?" Someone whisper yelled to her. She cracked open an eye, adjusting to the light, finally making out the face of Willie.
"Willie! Where is everyone? Are they okay?" She said to him in an almost begging tone. It was in her nature to put others first. She didn't care about herself in this situation, she just wanted everyone else to be okay.
Willie let out a small laugh, "They're fine. We're gonna get you out of here." She nodded. The music began to die down and the girls eyes went wide.
"Willie, you need to go. Please, I don't want anyone else wrapped up in this. Whatever you do, don't let the boys or Julie come here. No matter what. Promise me." She told him.
Willie looked conflicted, "Liz, I-"
She cut him off, "Promise me."
Willie sighed, "I promise." She nodded at him and he gave her one last glance, before leaving the room, the door locking behind him. Willie poofed back to the studio, where everyone was waiting for him.
Luke pounced on him, "Was she there? Is she okay?"
"She's fine. I found her." Willie tells him, only slightly calming Luke's nerves.
"Where is she? We have to go get her!" Willie shakes his head at him and Luke furrows his eyebrows.
"She doesn't want anyone coming after her. I can't tell you where she is." He said, facing everyone else in the studio.
Luke was about to push him, but Alex held Luke back, "What do you mean 'you can't tell us'? I'm going after her. Tell me where she is. Now."
"She made me promise. I-"
Luke cut Willie off, "Willie, you're telling me that just because she made you promise, you're going to let Caleb have her?"
Willie began to raise his voice, "Would you tell us if she made you promise not to?"
Luke threw his hands up, "If it was a matter of life and death, then yes!" Luke was being irrational, not thinking about how hurt Elizabeth would be if something happened to them because of her.
"I'm sorry, man." Willie sighed, before poofing away to god knows where.
Once again, the girl and the phantoms were left to grieve the disappearance of their best friend, sister, and girlfriend.
